Mentally checking out is a weak mentality and isn’t going to do him any good in his situation. There’s no benefit to giving up but everything to gain from busting a gut. The manager that has never had any interest in starting him? I have never seen a player perform for a club when that club has told them they no longer want them. Saying they should try impressing for any clubs that are watching is just a naive simplification of the situation. The entire situation surrounding him is going to be really uncomfortable right now, it's not something you can just get out of your head.
January 25, 20251 yr Disgraceful cameo. But also disgraceful man-management from the manager. It's no wonder he's pissed off and now he needs to go before the window closes at any cost. As long as he's at the club he's obviously going to be hoping Maresca gets the sack as soon as humanly possible and that can only be a disruption in the dressing room.
January 25, 20251 yr Marescas management of Chris has been a disgrace. He is one of our best players - but out of sheer stubbornness, he has refused to give him a meaningful run of games, and clearly isn't in his plans. Ok - fair enough. But then stop using him at all- as now you have a disillusioned player, who dislikes the manager, and who wants to leave and is doing sod all on the field. The worst of both worlds. January 25, 20251 yr Once ... just once ... play him up top as the second striker foil to Jackson. From the start of a game ... 4-1-3-2 .... 4-1-2-1-2 ... 4-2-2-2 ... 4-3-1-2 ... 3-5-2 ... It's nonsense to keep saying "I can't play Nkunku or Felix as I can only play 1 attacking midfielder" ...

All I’m saying is if Chilwell got a 40 min run out after being banished in far worse circumstances I’m quite confident he would put in a better shift than Nukuku. January 25, 20251 yr Nkunku definitely doesn't want to play under Maresca, and Maresca clearly doesn't want him either, so what's the point in making him play?
January 25, 20251 yr Doesn't want to be here, just let him go for his own sake. Deserves so much better than this treatment.
January 25, 20251 yr I suspect he will be leaving this week. Hopefully to Bayern rather than United if he does leave, I think he could still do well in another team.
January 25, 20251 yr His attitude stinks to be honest. Got 35 mins today and he didn’t do anything. Been that way when he comes off the bench for a few months.

January 26, 20251 yr His attitude sucks I understand everything that is said on here ,but if he gave a gut busting run or smashed a screamer from 25yds or just did something brilliant I'd forgive him cos there is a monster player in there somewhere.

Yeah if he could just start scoring 50 yard screamers every 10 minutes he’d be cool.

I just don't understand this opinion. I've never seen him be anything more than anonymous unless he's playing a league one level team. No point ever swapping Jackson for Nkunku as Jackson will score 1 in 6 chances and Nkunku will score 0 of his 0 chances. In short. We need a f**king striker.

I'm not sure how you can claim he's one of our best players, has he even had a stand out game for us?
January 26, 20251 yr Obviously Nkunku's a better player than what we've seen from him so far at the club but I have a feeling he can only contribute playing in a system suited to his profile, otherwise he's pretty much useless.

Albeit, the circs have been against him. Comes in, gets injured, gets fit, gets a new manager who doesnt fancy him or give him anything like a run of games to get into a rhythm of form or in tune with those around him. But I maintain that he is one of our most talented players and most rounded attackers.
January 26, 20251 yr 3 hours ago, SimonH said: And yet one of our worst performers. Yep - I agree. So you have a good player, who has never been given a fair crack or run in the team, and who now seems disinterested and wanting to leave. vs, on the other hand, an absolute sh*t show of a player (Wacko), who gets selected game in game out, and gets afforded chance after chance, despite never earning that chance or justifying it. Chris was badly mismanaged and a victim of misfortune and bad timing. Injury. New stubborn manager who is blinkered and keeps choosing the sh*ttest player we have ever had play for us.
January 26, 20251 yr He's barely been game time. How do you perform when you don't get a run of games? One off game doesn't mean you shouldn't get chances. But it's obvious that he feels unwanted here, so just let him leave at this point. He was bought to be the guy to help us achieve things, but he hasn't been that, so we have to look elsewhere now.
January 26, 20251 yr Not only has he not been given game time - it's like when he comes on no one gives him the ball or set's him up either!
January 26, 20251 yr His form is completely on Maresca. Shun him and then expect him to come on and save you.
