Would still be better that what we have from our wide players if given their game time, imo.

Does not mean I think he should be the final solution. We still need better.

Felix averaging an assist every 1,064 mins at Chelsea, Sancho averaging one every 184 minutes and Mudryk was averaging one every 401 minutes throughout his Chelsea career.

i can't stress how uncreative this man is.

Oh now now don't put yourself down, you do a very good job of it.

Not Jim levels to Nico or TimetoWaste levels to Trev, but don't sell yourself short, you do a good job.

I've got plenty more in the tank

It turn out it is hard to get a good fee if the player never play.

See also Chilwell, Chalobah, Sterling, Disasi, Chukwuemeka, Dewsbury-Hall, Washington !

Plus it doesn't help if you have hopelessly overpaid for many of them in the first place, or given them overly generous salaries, or in some cases both LOL

70M for Nkunku? I hope there are some 'stupid' big spenders out there making the owners rich.

They did manage to get huge fees for Havertz and Mount, so you never know I guess ... but in general we've had to fire sale players we've wanted to get rid of.

But those two played all the time for us. Nkunku basically hasn't played football for 1.5 season.

Point was that we have on occasion been able to get good fees, but generally we have fire sold, even for players that have played a lot (Koulibaly, Mendy, Kovacic, Pulisic, Lukaku, CHO)

We could shift Nkunku as he is clearly a quality player, but we won't get £70m unless some club with money really wants him.

I was surprised we got what we did for Havertz, because playing him a lot showed up all his flaws. Thankfully Arteta came along !

Kai case is interesting because if you are a scout, you see crazy talent. Left footer, tall, technical, hard worker, box crasher, good header.

This just fit exactly what Arteta want from his lcm. The problem is as we have seen in his tenure for us and Arteta find out, he is a horrible midfielder. Honestly this baffle me till today because I believe he started his career as midifelder with leverkusen.

He made his name and reputation as a 10/AMF ghosting into the box. He was never an out-and-out MF. His reputation and results aided by the BL's preference for defence as an optional extra. It's why he struggled in the same role at Chelsea. Not only is the PL a whole lot faster than the BL, PL defences are 200% tighter.

Wouldn’t actually be averse to seeing Nkunku go this window, injuries and lack of opportunity could be a factor but he’s never really done it for me.

Yes he’s had some glorious stat padding this season against some obscure peasants but in the meaningful PL games he’s appeared he’s not been the upgrade on Jackson we desperately need.

I know some on here believe he isn’t a 9 but more of a SS/10 but is he really going to displace Palmer in that position? No.

Agree.

But you surely expect any attacking midfielder especially as talented as Kai to be able to do 30 (midfield) - 70 (attacker) job. But in Kai case that 30% is so bad, that eventually every manager play him as ST.

If he can just do that 30% stuff, kai is the perfect box crasher.

Therein lies the problem. He falls between too many stools to be a PL great.

Because we sold them to EPL clubs. There is no money outside Real Madrid and England, football is seriously broke.

The flaw with the burn-and-churn Brighton model for actual top clubs is that only your direct rivals can afford to pay the kind of money that makes the model sustainable. Brighton aren't here to win the league, so they have no issue in selling their top prospects to City, Arsenal, Liverpool and United.

Apart from Palmer none of our attackers score goals, surprised Nkunku isn't kicking off begging for a transfer seeing as he has to see players like Noni, Neto and Jackson stink up the stadium every week and he can't even get on the pitch

Is odd how there is such little noise around him. I would have thought he would have a few teams after him.

We aren’t getting top asking for too much money for a player we have no use for as usual. Apparently we want £65m, and he is on £300k/w+. That is where the Mathys Tel link stems from. If we can convince him to move here we will pay £40m+ for him, while Bayern gives us £65m for Nkunku. We need to either drop our demands or stop the stupid swaps.

Aren't Bayern supposed to be expressing an interest?

Aye that has gone quite though. Their director said they were not interested.

It all comes down to how much. No doubt he is very good but I won't pay much for a 28 years old who hasn't played football for 1.5 season.

Its all immaterial now. There is only a week or so of the window left and no agreements are yet made. I would be very skeptical that this lot would be capable of getting any deal for anyone over the line in eth time left of this window.

I had no idea he was that old, for some reason I still thought he was in this mid 20's.
