He's made a small error (could even be a typo) on the age, but I think the underlying sentiment here is spot on. The fee we want is obviously too high as there is very little noise about Nkunku from any club apart from Bayern's "interest", despite plenty of clubs being in need of a goal scorer ...

He's not a number 9, what top clubs needs a number 10/SS?

Utd is the only team i could think of that would need him. We got him on the cheap for a player of his quality, we should be able to get what we paid for him in this market.

Most of the time I only use player birth year because whether he is 27/28 it really doesn't matter.

It's amazing that this club is trying to fool everybody into thinking there isn't a spot for him. There is, we just have a manager who refuses to use these options.

I think Nkunku has simply reached the point where the owners think they can best profit from him, and hence they are trying to send him on his way, and the manager has to get in line behind that objective. 

We are basically buying players not to improve the team, but to improve the bottom line. Hence all the opportunistic purchases rather than addressing the actual deficiencies in the starting XI. They have two "Directors of Football" simply to enable the scaling of the model.

Probably why Maresca doesn't have any actual targets to aim at ... other than to "improve" the players.

We had a lb playing as lw and the discussion was around manager/tactic not the squad.

Nkunku is also on 10M / year. Same as Noni, Lavia and Mudryk combined.

Garnacho is currently 1/4 of the salary.

Don't all the players wages get significantly inflated if we are successful like winning trophies, qualifying for CL?. What if their assumptions that we do qualify impact their PSR budget and the likes of Nkunku and Chilwell take us beyond it because they are on big wages regardless.

If they truly believe that eventually we'll qualify, regardless of how we are deteriorating in front of our eyes, perhaps they are trying to force Chilly and Nkunku (and Sterling come to think of it) in order to ensure that inflated salaries still keep us in budget.

I don't know if you noticed, but the club has been pretty open about wanting to sell him since December. If we keep telling players we don't want them anymore, what do you think is going to happen? You say he had 40 minutes to impress, but impress who? The club aren't interested anymore, they want to sell him.

Mentally checking out is a weak mentality and isn’t going to do him any good in his situation. There’s no benefit to giving up but everything to gain from busting a gut.
