Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2022/23

We all get carried away with "how good" a team are. On their day, City are unbelievably good and with the Haarland signing, and the way he has been scoring it was all to easy to predict they were going to win everything going. Who knows, they may still do so. But today was a reminder that they are fallible and what happened today will happen again.

Won't start worrying about the Gooners until we get into 2023 and see where they are and how they are performing in January. I know we are all expecting them to revert to type at some point, but who knows. maybe they could keep it going. hope not, but they have the strongest squad they have had for a good few seasons, now they have cleared out all the deadwood (unfortunately we had one of them playing up front today!!)

City better get their house in order, bad enough past few years if they messed up they let Pool win the title, this season if they mess up is Arsenal or Spurs...

No, it was the power of Anfield.

Both wrong, it was assisted by the Scouse wind blowing in off the Mersey.

"The referee came to the coaches and said play on, play on. There were a million fouls. But after we scored a goal, he decided it is not play on. This is Anfield."

I don't like talking too much about ref but this is something that need to be talk about regarding VAR.

Was it a foul? 1000%.

Was it a foul based on how A Taylor ref that game? No way.

But that goal probably would had been disallowed anyway because Allison had one hand on the ball.

I had this discussion with a Liverpool fan yesterday, its something I hate about VR. A ref can allow a shirt pull all game, or a niggly foul, or physical contact or a hundred other things for 90 minutes and never give a foul. But if one leads to a goal in the 91st minute its scrutinised completely differently and a decision is then based on a different set of rules. Thats just not right,.

It's a fair point, but aren't refs who ignore shirt pulls and fouls ignoring the rules in the first place?

only kepa is able to defy trainers orders

So glad we didn't sign him - his ego seems too big to fit into any dressing room these days.

He may well find himself in no mans land come January with maybe only the MLS as an option.

His agent and United has shopped him around since last summer and there is no taker.

Never going to happen after he managed Rangers 😊

Why would that make any difference ? Souness went from managing Rangers to managing Liverpool, directly.
