Speaking of which he wants out this summer and the links have started again. As much as I saw a talented player some years ago and the lad still has talent he’s a lazy luxury player that isnt good enough to be given the liberty of not being a team player. Not even worth it even with the supposed discounted price.

I’d like to add no Vlahovic either, make that any Serie A player just to be safe.

He is delusional to think Arsenal would have a look at him. He is basically Eze on the left wing and Arsenal have had enough of Eze already to be interested in a similar player in one key area they will surely upgrade this summer.

I see Leao also flirting with Man United as well, but I do not think they will look at him either. As you say, he will be 27 years old just in a couple of days and way too much of a luxury player to have on a long contract. Could have been a great player if his attitude was better.

I know Serie A isn’t what it used to be, but is it so bad now that there isn’t a single player in the whole division that is good enough for a mid table Premier League team?

There is. Scott MacTominay. Current Serie A Player of The Year.

Leao.

Plus points: Big lad, has pace. Can look good in flashes. Is miles better than Garnacho and Mudryk.

Minus points: Couldn't even spell defend let alone chase back and do some. Is as consistent as Donald Trump's policy decisions.

There probably are few gems but I don’t think it’s worth the risk particularly with our current record. That’s why I’m pro Rogers. At least we know what to expect.

Thing with Rogers and what I would be concerned about is he is statistically better as a 10 than as a LW. How would he handle low blocks since Villa play on the counter? Everything at Villa runs through him, what happens when he isn’t the central figure anymore?

No way Rogers will come to us with no European football when Villa are in the CL and Arsenal are reported to be interested too.

Agreed. The only way i see us being competitive is by the board relaxing their incentivised pay structure for one season. If they declare a moratorium to the reduction for one season for those players here last season and continue to pay them their CL adjusted salaries, they could then approach new players, detail the incentivised program but offer them CL salaries for this coming season regardless. It means the board putting their money where their mouths are and internally, to the group, backing the manager to get the team back into the CL after one season.

Then they might, might, have a shout of getting players by selling them Alonso and the "project". Without the salary to match no agent is going to advise their clients to accept us, if there are better offers out there.

I maybe living in a dream world where Estevao, Palmer, and Rogers all interweave in some sort of undefendable sexy football wave of football magnificence that will bamboozle the opposition. One minute Rogers is on the left next he's popping up in the middle with Palmer cutting in from the right Estevao ghosting in from the left. Alonso conducting it all from the sidelines with actual conductors batons. Garnacho playing somewhere in Turkey. A man can dream.

And then it turned into a nightmare when Jackson sent to row z of the MHU a tap in created by those three footballing wizards.

I mean what do we have to lose. Unless he’s demanding some daft wages.

our mental state, need to be special player offensively if he doesn't want to defend. Just imagine ineffective/inconsistent forward play accompanied by lack of workrate performance.

Garnacho then?
