Worth remembering though in the early days of Roman these two would probably cost less than £50m combined. Probably much easier to sanction two signings at £50m than 2 signings at £150m+ haha!
July 26, 20223 yr With Koulibaly in we could go for a younger defender. KK and Silva leadership is plenty for the backline.
July 26, 20223 yr I know taht self quoting is a bit of a no no, but thsi is what i put on teh Timo Werner page: But we're paying him £15m a year...and he runs a lot!! I'm absolutly convinced that TB has Werner in his sights to move him on and if he can't get him totally off the books I reckon he will loan him out and pay 50%. If we went for Gvardiol and lent Werner to Leipzig, even if we paid half his salary it will still save us £7.5m a year, or in fact will probably offset all of Gvardiol's wages for the year. Geniunely why aren't we offering him as a loannee back to them as a sweetener for buying Gvardiol, They could have a buy option if they want and we can cover half his wages whilst on loan. We would still be okay financially doing this, wouldn't we, without affecting FFP. Even if we had him back after a year perhaps he would have regained his confidence again and may be a better player second time around.

As clever as we might like to think we all are here, especially me 🙂, whatever we can think of the club can think of too. Loaning Timo to Leipzig will certainly have been considered and, for all we know, has been proposed. If it hasn't been there is a reason for that. As for Gvardiol, I like him a lot and would be really happy to see him here. Edited July 26, 20223 yr by OhForAGreavsie

Ah I see. How odd that, aside from the failed Kounde and De ligt bids, we are left linked to Kilman, Kimpembe and this fella who are all left sided.

This would be ideal, then hopefully he bangs them in and we can do a deal for Nkunku next summer!
