There is depth.. and then there is too much depth, especially when you’re paying £60m+ for a guy who literally cannot start a game ‘in a balance first 11’. Gallagher is worth keeping, Ugochukwu, Santos and Carney can be the depth, especially in a season without UCL.

Not sure what we’re thinking with this one.

Its Joe Shields. Discovered Lavia and believes in his talent.

I don't know what the plan is atm but Lavia seems to be very well in it.

Demoralising Liverpool is reason enough.

They went on rightmove and couldn’t find anything above £50k, it really is no place for a multi-millionaire.

Nkunku being out I think means Pochettino goes 433

Hugely interested to see if team plays and how it does.

Sanchez

James Silva Colwill Chilwell

Lavia Enzo Caicedo

Sterling Jackson Mudryk

I'd assume you could still play the above and have Nkunku in that front 3 when he's back.

I fully believe we signed Lavia because Liverpool tried to f**k with us with Caicedo.

All for it though tbh, Lavia alone would have been underwhelming but now that Caicedo's done he'll be a great understudy and a great option if we go 4-3-3 which we may very well do.

I wonder what santos Ugo Conor make of this

I expect one of Santos or Ugochukwu to go out on loan, hopefully we keep Gallagher, but I have this feeling that we will look to sell.

I mentioned several times I would be Petty and sign them about a week ago as a passing comment now I think they actually did it to show who’s got the bigger”wonga”.

This got Eghbali written all over it!! He just looks like the petty type 🤣🤣🤣

Santos and Ugo need regular game time at their ages. Unless we have to sell Conor the best thing we can do is loan both Santos and Ugo so they come back as better players. PL clubs have enquired for Santos.

In a 4-3-3, Lavia-Caicedo-Enzo is an absolutely mental, well balanced midfield who can resist almost any kind of pressure. Once upon a time, we had Lampard, Ballack, Essien, Makelele, Diarra, Geremi, etc all in the same team and we were a scary team to play. Man City basically have two quality players for every single position bar GK and they've been just fine bar Cancelo falling out with pep after about 3 or 4 years. It was only a few years ago they had Aguero, Dzeko, Balotelli and (I forget the name of the other '-ovic' name sounding bloke). Seems it's all been working out for them. Even now, Madrid have Kroos, Modric, Tchouameni, Kamavinga and Valverde all in the same midfield. We either want to challenge at the absolute top or we don't. I have no problem at all with this signing, now that I've put that into perspective personally.

4-3-3 also accommodates attackers who don’t track back as well (Mudryk), but can press high up and let them simply attack.

Plus, competition for places is a good thing.  The squad will not exceed 22 or so players, and injuries and suspensions will happen.  Pretty sure Caicedo will rack up te yellow cards after watching how aggressive he tackles - you get away with those at Brighton!

I think Boehly and John Henry are rumored to have some billionaire beef as well. Not sure how true that is but it's funny. Especially because they both own two top baseball teams as well.

Plus a year from now, we'll be competing in the CL. If by some stroke of luck we win, we'll have to add CWC to that as well.
