However above all else he wants to play, so he'll take LB at Newcastle rather than the bench with us or a PL loan. He'll think he has a better chance of transitioning into their midfield even with Guimares and Tonali in there, than he will here. He'll play LB.

August 18, 20232 yr Lavia vs Caicedo is interesting. Lavia is much better in defensive duties inside the box than Caicedo. If we manage these two well they can be even form a partnership in the midfield if we put Enzo at number 10.

August 18, 20232 yr Finally our midfield looks to be set for a long time. Been badly needing this revamp for a number of years.

August 18, 20232 yr Garden of Eden!! I don’t think the bias media understand how much of a pull we have and always bleeping in about history of this team history of that team blah blah blah!!! These young players grew up watching Chelsea as the dominant team and Eden as an idol!!! https://x.com/chelseafc/status/1692468769396769187?s=46&t=-ihGgbdk7PMcROr0t1P76Q

It is weird how confident I feel about our midfield even though we have only seen one of the 3 play. I trust Enzo to make things work between everyone. I watched most of the Super Cup and followed Kovacic play for City. He is silky as ever but he just seems to be one of the 10 players City use in the attack. He didn't really bring anything to it if I am being honest. Especially when City circulated the ball Sevilla sitting deep, they just basically needed a run and a pass ie DeBruyne to Haaland or to someone else. I really hope we play another brand of football where we are more vertical in our play. Lavia seems to be perfect for this type of football simply by looking at the moves he's made in many of the YouTube comps.

They were perfect for each other imo. Matic was the spider web, if you went near him with the ball he would tangle you up. Kante was the spider covering the mileage around the web. With Enzo in front of them this could be the start of something special.
August 18, 20232 yr Full length call with Eden: https://x.com/thebluedodger/status/1692474179616964654?s=46&t=-ihGgbdk7PMcROr0t1P76Q
August 18, 20232 yr Why not take a clean traditional number like the 4 shirt though?, oh well. On a side note, the marketing team really stepped it up with these announcements, the Caicedo car video and now this Eden call, top class.

But if I take a step back and look at it without my Chelsea bias , we've signed a player from Brighton after just one good season, and a teenager with only one full season. I don't know why I , like others think it's going to be good ! But, being Chelsea it's normal to fluctuate between despair and wild optimism within days 😂😂😂
August 18, 20232 yr I'm more worried about goals. Jackson and Mudryk really need to reach new levels.

Upping the number of shots we take to 20+ a game would be a good starting point. I fancy Enzo might surprise us with double figures goals as well if he is played further forward.
August 19, 20232 yr We literally took everybody we could this summer. Add Romeo to the list of players that rejected Liverpool, Klopp is sad

Not having a go at you btw, but haven't you spoke about how badly we need a midfield for years and now we've got it, be happy about it. We probably have one of the best midfields in the league at this rate just behind City. I would be disappointed if we were to go out and spend our resources on attackers and neglected the midfield, we've already invested in the attack the season beforehand. Why buy new ones and put the likes of Jackson, Mudryk, Madueke, Broja, Carney, etc. on the bench for longer? When we should be giving them a chance to develop and prove themselves. The board have already filled the positions that were mostly needed and have done an excellent job at that if I must say.
August 19, 20232 yr Give them chance to gel properly and relax into playing instinctively, once the panic of needing to start scoring has gone, i suspect between them they will be quite prolific. Werner failed because he got more and more wound up that it wasn't happening. The harder he tried the worse he got. How often have you heard the expression "he only needs one to go in off his arse or something, for the floodgates to open" They are going to make mistakes, but as long as they learn from them, they will keep improving.

Or a modified 4231 with Chilwell at LW or w/e. Really don’t want to see that against West Ham like we did against Liverpool. So many times we saw the 343 to assist our weak and unbalanced midfield. Now that we have a strong midfield we need to be seeing more expansive football. Edited August 19, 20232 yr by Sconnie Blue
