Romeo Lavia

Featured Replies

We seem to keep signing players who are not ready to play for the first team - whether through lack of experience, or pre-existing injuries. I know Lavia just picked up a new injury but he was already returning from injury when we signed him and wasn't close to fitness. Would be nice if we more often signed players that were ready to play for the first team right away. Especially given the amounts we are shelling out.

Happens to every team. MU have 8 players out, as have Villa. We have 9.

Think the issue is the players we're getting injured.

Utd are missing Shaw and Mount who are the only real players that would start for them. Rest of them being the likes of Tom Heaton, Malacia, Mainoo, Diallo etc. that are rotation players.

We're missing Badiashile, Fofana, Reece, Nkunku who would walk into the starting 11 and then crucial squad depth like Broja and Lavia.

Like you say, injuries happen everywhere. Just a shame with the personnel that it happens to at Chelsea.

Not terrible.

Like I mentioned earlier, his injury really isn't that big of a concern for us when we already have Enzo, Caicedo, Gallagher, and Ugochukwu.

That could be true, although do wonder why we signed him if we don't him a bit when he's out for 6 weeks.

Not much could be done about injury in games, but to lose players for extended period due to some training accident ( or incidents) is just so frustrating.

I think one of the big issues with all these injuries is not just that they are missing its the fact that with such a new team they are missing vital time playing together.  So unlike the injuries at Utd or Villa when they do return its not just a case of getting back up to match sharpness they also need weeks/months to get use to playing with their teammates and the coaches playing style, something most have never really had.  A six week injury doesnt sound too bad but when you consider the amount of integration time needed/lost it could be a much longer set back.

Thanks but I take absolutely zero notice of unsourced media, especially Twatter, rumours.

Ah but you and I and @coco are from medieval times, when types like  the Venerable Bede were the only gossip girls around.

Venerable Bede slipped on his monastery staircase and twisted his ankle according to 8th century Twatter.

Further research has 8th century Twatter claiming it was the weight on his shoulders of his £1/1/6 transfer from Tyne and Wear to Northumbria.

That is a heavy responsibility, that's certainly true.

Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino has confessed that summer signing Romeo Lavia is yet to start running again as he seeks to overcome an ankle injury.

It now appears as though Lavia will have to wait even longer for his maiden outing in a Chelsea shirt as Pochettino has confirmed he is still a long way away from being ready.

"I don't believe [Lavia will be back after the international break]," Pochettino admitted. "I cannot tell you but he is still not running. After the international break he will not be back."
