Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea Manager

Featured Replies

Should have been sacked during the world cup break.

Really should never have been hired at all.

I can't stand the argument he should last until the end of the season and there's no point sacking him now.

Players aren't robots, allowing a manager as bad as Graham Potter to have another couple months with players like Mudryk, Enzo and the rest of our young promising squad will damage careers. There's already unfair pressure mounting on them making it that much harder for them to adjust.

Potter out. Poch in until the end of the season to have a real go in the CL and then reassess.

So now he takes off the one player up front who looked like he might be capable of doing something? 😂 Is this a sick joke? Is he here to ruin our club from the inside?

I think it's pretty clear that Boehly and Co. want to replicate the LA Dodgers model where they hired Dave Roberts in 2016 and stuck with him until he won them the world series in 2020.

That being said, I have no idea if that's going to work here in football.

Different fan base - different sport.  You can finish last and survive, here you finish last you are relegated.   The fans will turn on him and Boehly today if we lose and he just might cave to the pressure and bring another manager in, temporary or otherwise just to survive the season...Jesse Marche?

I hate Potter and everything that he did today. Azpi was kicked to the face and didn't move for a solid 10 minutes but all he did was wait.

He should be outraged at the assistant ref! I have completely lost all respect for him.

Losing is one thing but not even getting outraged by one of your own getting hurt is unacceptable

Wish people would stop comparing Potter to Moyes or Ole.

Potter is far worse than both of them. Over the 17 league games Potter has managed we've scored 15 goals and are 16th in the league. 2 wins in our last 15 games in all comps.

He's quite simply the worst manager in our 118 year history and the manager every terrible manager at a decent side will be compared to in the future.

A huge step back, and following on from only the smallest of steps forward in recent weeks.

Ultimately this season has been a disaster because of the hubris of the ownership.

They so obviously and clearly don't have a clue about football. And to think they sacked everyone who does all at once.

Potter was dealt a 7 and a 2 and has played them as badly as a food tourist in the wuhan wet markets.

I won't be. I honestly don't think there are any depths we can sink to in which he gets sacked. Every bit of information out of the club seems to suggest the owners don't care if we fail to get CL this season and he's here for the long-term. It's going to be a rough few years.

I told you from the first match, Potter will change nothing from what Tuchel tried to do and since then Potter has done worse and worse.

He was also given 2 100m+ valued players, a good CB, a pacy winger on top of both FBs getting fit again and he still can't outcoach a managerless absolute bottom of the league Soton team.

Come on Potter fans, lets hear the excuses and the "Give him 2 years" spiel

Potter hasn't been dealt a 7 and a 2 he was dealt pocket aces and  folded.

He's had every possible advantage, money, time, a patient owner with no expectations, a season wrote off for him to learn.

Dyche was dealt a 7 and 2 coming into a club in the relegation zone who lost their best player, failed to sign anyone, had supporters protesting against the board and has Arsenal and Liverpool in his first 2 games having his team not won in 10 games.

Dyche has won 2 out of his first 3 games with 2 clean sheets and Everton now have a clear style of play that may keep them up.

You could give Potter any squad in the league, any amount of resources and he wouldn't challenge for a Europa league spot because there's just so many far better managers than him in the league.

It isn't a player or situation issue. He's the issue.
