It is pretty straight forward. The less space player has to defend, the better he will play. 

Everton, Villa and yesterday. That's three fantastic performances in about two weeks from Caicedo now. All of them with Gallagher or Cucurella beside him.

Very positive signs but surely we need to continue to build on that now instead of taking a massive gamble on Lavia or Enzo every working out as Caicedo's midfield partner. We know now that Caicedo-Gallagher will work so selling the latter would be a ridiculous decision.

Absolute monster. Incredible talent. Also never injured and works his ass off every game.

You underestimate the stupidity of the people making the decisions.🤣🤣

I would put a bet on every decision they make this summer has a negative impact on the club.

Put the stats with no context aside for one second, Rice is miles ahead of Caicedo. I was clamouring for us to get Rice instead, but here we are. The board has some weird obsession with Caicedo.

I think he had a point but at the same time I think it's obvious Caicedo would be far better in the Arsenal team and Rice would look far worse than he has if he was playing in this team. 

We're constantly chopping and changing, all over the place, horrible defensive transitioning. It's difficult for any defensive player to look good in this team, putting it into perspective Caicedo has done very well. Of course he hasn't been worth the price tag but we didn't pay for a 28 year old in his prime, we bought someone who's still a kid and has potential. 

Let's give it a few years and see who made the better signing for who.

Another top performance yesterday. Tackles, great assist, dictated tempo from start to finish. Starting to boss the midfield and quietly bossing the game. Once the team gets going and build up an understanding he is going to be really pivotal and I am sure people will forget about price tag. 

Won us the game today, solid performance from me.

Now I want to see a really outstanding display vs Brighton from him. We saw what it did for Ania and CHO against us,let's see Caicedo show Brighton what they have been missing.

Just getting better and better in blue.  Love seeing the side to his game that breaks through midfield, and has good passing range as well.

 Agreed with the main premis, but is it just me that doesn't remember Ramires as fondly as that? The goal at Barcelona not withstanding I never quite took to him like the others.

Ending the season on a high note, he's looking really good now.

 

Very good performances in the last games. It's good that he catches that form now, it's an important period and preparation for the next season. 

We need players like this, keep it going!

That weighted pass for James who provided the winner for Jackson at the end was beautiful. His passing is really underrated.

His passing is so underrated look at the pass to Cole over the defenders that really Cole should have done a little better though it was a difficult chance

I see the media have stop talking about him now that he’s turning in quality performance.

This is why I ignore football media when it comes to Chelsea.

They were all over him at the start of the season with negative comments not giving the kid a break him being in a new team with all his teammates also new.

Caicedo in Enzo’s absence has flourished, I’ve been a big critic but he’s been on point recently no coincidence results and performances have improved. Clearfake are apparently stat and analytic heavy in back room so I’m praying somebody notices this rather than putting Conor up for sale a week on Monday. And IF they do decide to sell Conor (😡) NOT to a direct rival ffs, Havertz on 12 goals and 7 assists in EPL. 
As for his missing partner Enzo, let the lad recover 150% and I’m sure in time both of them can play together amplifying each other’s strengths rather than what we’ve seen this season mostly - no midfield control.
