Bit of a shambles and all the more gutting to be done by those dirty scousers, when we have been Kings in the transfer market for so long.

Brighton clearly didn't want to sell to us and no doubt had the hump when they thought they could get Colwill. They think they are too big for rivalry with palace now and think we are their rivals. Hope we f**king hammer them when we play them this season and before that, hammer the dippers on Sunday.

Still think the price tag was way too high and knowing our luck he would have picked up a bad injury after a couple of weeks so f**k 'em. Let's move on.................

Bizarre post. Do you really think Brighton care either way about Chelsea? Brighton didn't want to sell unless they got their valuation which was at 'an offer we cant refuse' level. There's no rivalry, its just business. If you want to create one with Brighton on your own then knock yourself out but you really are on your own!

The price of players these days is absolutely mental. Even the Enzo fee was way too much for someone who isn't a goalscorer. Harry Kane fee I can understand, but no other area of the field should be worth anything near £110-120m+ ffs. Goals win games and often a top and efficient striker will make the difference in a game.

I find it funny how most where happy to over pay and gazump Arsenal for Mudryk when we already had a ton of attacking players who could've played in the wide position, but now Liverpool have gazumped us for Caicedo for a position we have basically no one its good because he aint worth it.

We have 2 clubs willing to pay £100 million plus so the market determines he's worth that.  We just need to accept we've been done by Liverpool.

Although I have a feeling though we aren't going to let Liverpool win this one, I feel a big bid coming in, I feel the jet firing up again.

Imagine being this arrogant after a couple of years playing in the PL, having won nothing.

To be fair, a section of Chelsea 'fans' on twatter etc have been in meltdown for months because little old Brighton wouldn't sell their best player for a discount 'because we are Chelsea'. The level of arrogance and entitlement has been breathtaking but also very funny (and embarrassing I'm sure for many proper Chelsea fans).  Brighton fans are enjoying their moment in the sun absolutely but few have any illusions that it is likely to last forever.

Somebody ban this troll.

Come back at us when you win a pot to piss in.

You and I both know you'll be relegated within ten years.

It's a bit Ironic that he is saying it thinking Chelsea is a club at or below Brighton's level because of one good season and their most successful period since they were established all sustained for a grand total of two years if you want to be kind.

Average league position of 16th after battling bottom table for whole season except 6th last season and 9th season before.

It's as if he genuinely doesn't know or never heard of the club Chelsea before.

He's not worth the fee quoted, but who is these days.

I liked his touch in tight spaces and work off the ball. He would have been a nice foil for Enzo but there are other options for less. I am always a fan of shopping at the big clubs. We've had success with Kovacic, Silva recently.

I mean missing on the like of Caicedo is not a big problem.

City missed on Cucurella , jorgi, maguire. They got Rodri, dias.

Unless you think that Caicedo is a generational talent then not paying 100 m is not a problem. Of course signing Saul instead of paying 30 for Tchouameni is stupid.

The one thing that we cannot do is to repeat kepa disaster. Miss on Alisson and sign Kepa for 70 m is  mental

Agree with almost everything you're saying.

Quite likely we'll return to the Championship in the next decade. Happens to most clubs and it is difficult for British clubs like Brighton to compete financially with clubs from the US, Saudi Arabia and so forth. However, it should be said that with Tony Bloom in charge, we have a decent chance of beating the odds. Money is important, but competence is not too bad either.

You're right Billy could be a class player under the right conditions and you are also right that Chelsea perhaps isn't the right environment, just like it wasn't for De Bruyne, Salah, Guehi and a bunch of other players. Chelsea is the kind of environment that makes young players think "ok, I'm really, really good and they're playing Ruben Loftus-Cheek instead of me", and that environment certainly isn't for everyone.

Agree with the mistake. Massive (or mainstream, as you might also call it) clubs can't just recruit a couple of guys from a smaller club and try to copy that success. Steve's Burger Joint may make the better burgers, but you can't have a McDonalds without Ronald. Just different ways of running things.

And I also agree that the few times you hear Brighton and Chelsea mentioned in the same breath is when it comes to transfers. No one is going to mention both clubs when talking about clubs playing in Europe next season. No one is going to mention both clubs when talking about getting value for money. No one is going to mention both clubs when it comes to comparing the quality of football, the quality of how the clubs are ran etc. You also have a lot more Twitter followers, which I'm sure is going to be a great comfort when Billy Gilmour nutmegs Tyler Adams to make it 0-3 at Stamford Bridge in December, during Frank Lampards first game in charge.

You are indeed the top echelon of football. Lots of Twitter followers, big name signings, tabloid headlines... A massive club. Just not very good at football.

In short, I agree with you.

haha 10 year olds.. guess he came here because they dont have a fan forum or no members.. Imagine trying to rub it in to a club when they are losing their best player in a year when they are in europe .. what more could be small club mentality 🙂

A potentially world class winger is worth much more than a DM that are pretty common though.

Personally i think Egbhali will be on the plane first thing this morning over to Brighton's head office to match Liverpool's offer.

Meanwhile Brighton are sat with a grand total of zero trophies in the last century. Even when we were sh*t we still weren't as sh*t as Brighton. A complete nothing team.

Looks like we could bid more.

I think the best solution is to have both managers have a game of rock paper scissors on Sunday to decide his fate.

One good thing that's come out of this whole sh*t show. At least some of the "ITKs" that post on this site and the other have been shown for what they really are!

This wont stop them posting more pish five times a day from now til the window closes

Yes, it is small club mentality. Chelsea is a much bigger club.

But contrary to what supporters of United/City/Chelsea/Liverpool/Spurs/Arsenal believe, supporting the underdog - in football and in life - is actually not all that bad.
People are different. "Bigger", "richer" and "more famous" is not all that important to everyone. Backstreet Boys got a lot of fans, Coca Cola a lot of consumers, Chelsea a lot of people watching. But would I switch any of the for my local indie band, my local brewery or my not-so-local favorite club? Nope.

Absolutely, it is a nothing team to the small percentage of football fans who think titles are the only thing that matters.

I don't think its easy to compare each transfer window Brighton know there's virtually no DMs of his caliber on the market so his value will sky rocket like any rare item.  If he was put up for the £60 million every forum expert feels he's worth there'd be a long line of clubs knocking on the door.  The fact that we aren't the only idiots willing to pay up means the valuation must be valid.

I say fire up the jet and don't come back without Moises sat in the back.

Exactly, why are people throwing their toys out of the pram because Brighton did what's best for Brighton and them doing that has got them potentially 110m instead of 70-80 when we were first rumoured to bid.

I'd expect us to do the same if a Real Madrid came calling.

They're nothing to a large percentage of football fans. The Brighton fan base is tiny, therefore Brighton only means anything to a tiny tiny percentage of football fans. Name one thing that matters more than trophies in a game that is solely about being the best and winning trophies? Participation gets you nothing. Lame excuse that is used by tiny teams that win nothing.

Brighton are a well run club and I can imagine it's been great fun supporting them past few years. I live quite near the Amex and know plenty of people who love going there and watching them.

I'm sure you can take some jokes, but people are lashing out at you a bit here and I don't think that's on. Appreciate seeing the perspective of fans of other clubs personally.

We have to get him no matter what, yes it's a lot but that's just the way the market is nowadays,we look bigger mugs no getting him after all this time than we would for over paying now.
