Hazard skews that chart. Granted she got a very good fee for him,. but she didn't sign him in the first place. I'm talking about players SHE signed ... and the numbers don't include Kepa, Ziyech and Lukaku yet either ...

Regardless she is the one of the few directors that actually managed to sell older star-players for a huge fee, D.Costa and Hazard sales were her immortal deals. She also did D.Luiz for cheap and sold him for much more and the signings of Fabregas and Kante were also amazing, I could argue even Marcus Alonso was an amazing signing as well.

And they have the gall to talk sh*t about the old regime. For all their sins and flaws, they were winners. People hated Chelsea under Roman, but they also had respect. We're a joke now.

Just what I was thinking and posted. The balls on them to criticise the previous regime as running the club properly and now we are looked at like jokers or clowns.

I think the biggest issue here is that we didn't want to pay 100m for months and tried to lower the fee, then decided to bid 100m in the middle of the night only to be pipped by Liverpool. If you were going to bid 100m anyway why not do it 3 months ago instead of haggling, now other clubs know we have 100m to spend on a defensive minded midfielder.

That’s one more season than most we’ve signed. And it didn’t stop us wasting that sort of cash on Mudryk.

Doesn't make it the right decision. Mykky Mudryk has done nothing as of yet.

Also whilst this pantomime has taken up everyone's time we continue to haemorrhage in excess of £600k p/w on three players that don't even have squad numbers and clearly are not required. We need to focus our attention on getting deals completed that can be done rather than fannying around.

Not the news I expected to wake up to this morning.

Annoyed this has dragged on this long, but not upset we didn't pay £110m. Lavia, Onana, Gourna... go get one of those for £50-£60m, and lets move on. Maybe use the spare money to fund Kudus.

Fofana better than all bar Lavia for the ceiling.

Not convinced a panic buy is a good idea in the immediate if Caicedo does end up at Liverpool

Ben White and Dan Burn are both starters in top 4 teams. Trossard went to Arsenal in January and produced one goal and 10 assists in 930 minutes of game time. Yves Bissouma, after a season of injuries and Antonio Conte, has looked Spurs best player in the pre-season.

1. Its not about "goodwill".
2. If it is somehow about Todd Boehly & co being into "goodwill", stop it - this is the Premier League, not a pub league.

What relevancy does that have? Is that why you sold us Alexis Mac Allisters replacement - Billy Gilmour - for £10m? "He's Scottish, must be sh*t".

No one really wants to be with you or anyone, except maybe Barca, Real or City. Everyone is chasing the money and Caicedo and 99% of all footballers won't give a sh*t exactly what club that increases their wages five or tenfold.

All that said, will be interesting to see who you will sign now instead, and I look forward to next summer and the battle for Billy Gilmour.

Haha. Excellent post if only to jolt our fans into sense and reality.

But you guys will settle to your true level and return to the pub league you came from sometime in the next decade or so.

Enjoy it while it lasts. Wee Billy has the potential and could be a world beater under the right conditions, it wasn't just at a massive club like Chelsea.

The mistake our massive club has made is having fools in charge who thought they'd buy a big club and take people from a small club to run us. That's what has led us to this mess but we are a big club and will navigate the turmoil and come out a big club.

The only time you hear Brighton and Chelsea mentioned in the same breath is regarding transfer market activity.

We are top echelon of football whilst Brighton are a good few rungs below.

I don't think we are doing that though. Most of these players aren't really unheard of and they are being signed for massive amounts of money. Some are so well known that people have seen enough of them and don't rate them highly at all.

"People" have been wrong before. And are the kids we signed all that well known? Many of us asked Who? and had to google them. We've only seen them in pre-season, in all kinds of setups, when Pochettino had to find out his preferred starting 11. They may not have come cheap, but as we can see, clubs pay silly money for practically everybody now. Let's wait a while and actually see them play as part of an established team or as subs before writing them off already.

All because a massive club like Chelsea couldn't afford to buy  a player from a pub team like Brighton?

Delighted this saga is over. pretty sure we have our own version of the player we missed out on somewhere in the squad. Makes the decision to let Kante leave even more foolhardy. Even at 50 percent he was twice the player of Liverpools overpriced new midfilder. Strange times we live in where football players are traded at country GDP's.

We really think we're going to go to Real Madrid and put 100m on Tchouameni? 110m for Caicedo just made him even more expensive, it would take 120 at least now.

I think our best bet is to find someone a bit more experienced and go for a short term solution then wait for one of our younger players to develop. No point buying Lavia when you've just bought numerous 18-19 year olds.

Sick to the pits seeing number 2. Even then I knew we were overpaying and that is if we had gotten what we thought we were. Right now....

So happy we are not responsible for giving them half of that total on a below expectation and yet to be proven player.

Seconded. I hope Liverpool quickly pay up before Chelsea come again with another foolhardy bid.  Thank the lord this saga is over. Caicedo was not worth a dime over 70m. Now, we can either put faith in our youngster like Brighton did in Caicedo or go and buy someone else for far less. I had we ve put in a bid for Verrati who their new coach considers surplus to requirements. That is an excellent DM that would give a solid 2-3 years whilst Ugo or Santos ( whoever we retain amongst them) come of age. Thank God this circus is over

Kepa ? Lukaku ?

Her signings in total have cost us about £500m of losses ...

We can explain and justify them though. You never can be certain what the player will be like but can only back your decision with results.

Kepa we were backed in a corner because of Tibo and as per Bilbao transfer activity, had to pay what we did.

Lukaku whilst an absolute donkey, had the numbers and brilliant past season to justify the outlay. And to think we were trying to complete the puzzle then by getting a striker that did his job and it never worked our that way.

Why now go and start the puzzle, not complete, but start by spending such huge sum on caicedo who has one season in a club that just makes up the numbers and whilst he looks like he is doing a job, if we look at the stats they don't particularly back that narrative.

Thank God it's nearly over, massively overpriced for a player with one good season behind him.

No point in getting upset because Brighton wouldn't sell him to the lowest bidder,  let's forget the pantomime and move on , and for f**k's sake put an end to our infatuation with Brighton or we'll end up being charged with a stalking offence.
