October 16, 20223 yr Thought it would be a simple 1:1 draw, happy to be wrong. Mr. Potter is winning easy and for us Villa away hasn't been that easy in the recent times.

I think he is a bang average, and weak, player that has brief purple patches in a team of stars. Hope I'm wrong but I think he has hardly set the world alight since he has arrived. Also I am not convinced he is a Potter player either tbh. He's been generally poor, running into brick walls and getting the ball stuck under his feet time after time...needs to sit on the bench for a few.

I also don't rate Aubameyang very much, hopefully we can somehow get Nkunku in january. Gallagher should take Havertz spot. Kovacic and RLC dosen't work together in midfield, their positioning is horrible. It's like I said a few weeks ago, I trust Aubameyang to take the chance when it comes, but his overall game is pretty dreadful these days. I don't think he has actually had any game yet where I thought he played well. I agree about the Sterling experiment. He doesn't like playing there, we hate watching him play there. He's an attacking player that likes to sneak in behind and grab a goal. Playing him at RWB won't do anybody any favours. I think Cucurella can work as a LCB, but only in a team that is doing most of the attacking. He can offer support to the wing backs and attackers, but today wasn't the day for it because Aston Villa were pushing us back which meant he had to focus on the defensive side of playing as a CB, which is something he is clearly not comfortable with.

Not a good half for him today but I think the problem comes from us playing Kepa (as good as he was today, he had a fantastic game) and Silva as well as Marc at CB we start to look very small and easily bullied in the box. At Brighton he played next to Dunk, we don't have that commanding aerial presence at CB and a lot of balls into the box today posed us big issues.

I think everyone who watched it saw that we regained much more control when he came on. I could go into the details but as I explained over I won't. You see, that is exactly what does my nut with the Jorginho fanlings. He came on and did OK, (didn't really notice him much though), thought Apzi and Gallagher showed a lot more in their time on the pitch TBH. He moved the ball mostly backwards and sideways, no stand out moments, and yet you say he was "important" and controlled the midfield! Another fanling actually suggested it was a performance that showed we should be giving him a new contract!!!! You have to having a laugh, surely!! I think Potter is using him perfectly at the moment, generally as a late sub to tweak the system.

Started our biggest and most important game of the season in Milan 4 days ago... Will no doubt start again in midweek. I'm not sure why you can't accept Jorginho is a key player for us, the difference in how we control games with him on the pitch compared to constantly coming under pressure without him is night and day and has been during his time at the club.

We need to see some improvement. I’ll be damned if we continue to rely on our wingbacks only for the attacking bite. Shocking down both sides today and not a lot down the middle to shout of. We nicked 3 points that we did not deserve for that horror show. No Kepa, no 3 points today that's for sure. Devoid of all and any attacking options. Sterling was poor as was PEA, Chillwell had a mare both going forward and defending. All out of sorts today and as much as we gained 3 points,'' it will be a different story on Wed against a hungry Brentford team if we put in another performance like today. While it's understandable to change a few players now and then the back 3/4 should always be the same IMO.
October 16, 20223 yr Mount is getting back to his best. Our best player in our past 3 games now. Brilliant free kick. We rode our luck sometimes. But fairplay. Kepa was brilliant too. He does scare me on corners though wow 😄 Also special mention to RLC. Thought he was brilliant. He bossed that game. Rarely lost the ball and was an engine all game. His physical presence was really useful. A big, big win. Another clean sheet too. 4 in a row!

Milan had 10 players after 17 minutes? All the space and time in the world. I'm not sure why you can't accept that he slows our play down, is not a great defensive screen, and is often a liability when pressed in numbers.

Did Potters wizarding powers tell him Tomori would be sent off early? or did he select Jorginho from the start expecting our toughest game of the season in a hostile environment and felt Jorginhos composure would once again prove vital to our team. You don't have to like Jorginho, it's clear by now you're simply not capable of understanding what he brings to the team, that's on you. But acting like Potter has relegated him to game changing sub is simply not true, it's pure fantasy. Jorginho will continue to start many games this season just as he has under ever Chelsea manager who's coached him.

Don't worry mate he's not searching for a contract extension no need to be afraid anymore.

Didn't see the game, but the Radio pundits said the same. looked at stats and Villa had more shots on target despite our superior posession. looking at that North London lot yesterday it was noticeable how quickly they got forward, getting to the opposition box to faced by a couple of defenders whereas we eventually get there to be faced with a wall .there Early days for Potter, but a win is welcome no matter

Yeah, Jorghino controls the tempo of the game by giving the ball ,( and responsibility) to a player a couple of yards either side of him. For variety he'll give the ball to the opposition for a goal scoring opportunity.

October 16, 20223 yr Weird game today. After the early gift from Mings it should have been fairly comfortable but despite the 2-0 scoreline, was anything but. Other than Silva, our defence was all over the place and we needed Kepa to be on the top of his game to get the three points. Stand out players - Kepa, Silva and Mount. RLC did okay as did Gallagher and Jorginho when they came on but the rest were very mixed. Cucurella and Chilwell were shocking - both could have come off before half time. Ditto Havertz and Aubameyang - both passengers (Broja HAS to start a game soon). But decent 3 points and it keeps us up there and great to hear the travelling CFC supporters making plenty of noise today.

I said before Jorginho came on what would happen if he did come on and exactly that happened. It's not rocket science and he's a very tidy player.

He doesn't keep hold of the ball though. He gets rid of it to the nearest player almost instantly
