October 19, 20223 yr We must improve our game a lot from tonight's Brentford game to gain any points.
October 19, 20223 yr The test is now. Milan home and away, Brentford away. None of that. This is the test. We haven't beaten United in years. Times to see what this team and Potter are actually made of. I am expecting demanding a massive performance. Kepa Chalobah Silva Koulibaly Ruben Jorginho Kovacic Chilwell Mount Sterling Aubameyang
October 19, 20223 yr Can’t even remember the last time we beat them and the result tonight against Spurs will give them a right boost, Potter vindicated for resting Abu if he shows up.

Kepa Chalobah Silva Koulibaly Ruben Jorginho Kovacic Chilwell Mount Sterling Aubameyang I think today selection showed us who Potter will pick for United. Kepa Chalobah Silva (rested vs Brentford) Koulibaly Dave (rested for WB by playing CB vs Brentford) RLC Kovacic Chilwell (rested vs Brentford) Mount (ever present) Auba (rested bar 10 minutes vs Brentford) Havertz (Potter loves him)

October 19, 20223 yr I reckon tonight's rotation had a lot to do with this game on Saturday. If I could have my way, rather pick the best team to get 3 points, then worry about United after the game. United were good, although that Fred goal needed a good slide of luck, usually the first goal settles in a tight game like that. Our biggest worry be the right wing backs, Azpi will be at his very best to keep out Sancho or Rashford. No muck around with Sterling at LWB or defensive position, either plays him or not.

Won't happen and woild probably go horrible of picked given my record with these things but I would like to see: Kepa Dave Silva Koulibaly Chilwell Chalobah Gallagher Kovacic Mount Pulisic Broja Sterling
October 20, 20223 yr We usually do better in bigger matches like we did against AC Milan but Man United is different, on paper they have the quality of a big team but at the same time the way they play with that push of a mid table team that can change the tempo of the game is something that we have been struggling with. This matchup doesn't suit us judging from our form and theirs either. And to be honest we look a bit clueless in the final third without James bullying everyone and cutting inside, that alone was making things much easier and our left wing with Cucurella isn't producing enough to compensate now that James is injured. Aubameyang will probably start which leaves Broja on the bench despite his decent performance last night. The question is who gets to play around Aubameyang? I would actually like to see mr Potter going with some kind of a 4-4-2 formation, just with a more opportunistic style, the kind of game where less is more for us meaning we let them have possession and punish them fast while playing a bit deeper. Kepa Azpilicueta Chalobah T.Silva Chilwell Pulisic RLC Kovacic Mount Aubameyang Sterling 1. There is no point of Havertz being in the starting lineup anymore, he makes things harder for everyone. 2. There is no point of Jorginho being in this starting lineup, for this 4-4-2 to work out he simply lacks the pace, only if Kante was available it could work. 3. Pulisic did well as a super sub and wing-back, this would suit him even better. 4. Mount can play on both sides, he and Pulisic can switch if they want but usually Mount is the best while playing on the left side as the AM, now he'll be more wide. He doesn't have James on the right side so he doesn't need to be on the right hand side anyway, just work something out with Chilwell and Sterling instead. 5. Sterling can track back and he can connect with Mount and Aubameyang, it's just more experience that makes me put him instead of Broja and ultimately Broja would come in as a sub which leaves Havertz not involved in the match. This whole idea is to let Man United think they are epic and then hit them with a sucker punch from the counter and steal a win. I fear that if we try to do our regular gameplan that Man United will run over us. I know it looks like we would be trying to do exactly what Conte just tried and he failed while being the best at it, but this isn't the same, this isn't a back 3 lineup where Conte surrenders almost everything by default, this is a high pressure game where we simply wait for Man United to make a mistake and they will make a mistake as they're not that sharp just yet. October 20, 20223 yr Can't beat this lot at home anymore. We have played some of the worst United sides in 30 years but we always let them off because we are too soft on them.

October 20, 20223 yr I posted in the Brentford thread, that after the game I watched the highlights of Man Ure v Spurs. To be fair Spurs were awful in every way (oh how I laughed) but United were bang up for it, worked their socks off, high pressed, and passed and moved with impunity. If we play like we did last night, they will take us apart and quickly. It looks as though Gallagher is sick, not injured. Auba, Chilwell and Silva were rested so will all be back and Chuky and Pulisic looking decent when they came on, I will go for the following against United. Kepa Chalobah Silva Koulibaly RLC Kovacic Jorginho Chilwell Chukwuemeka Mount Aubameyang
October 20, 20223 yr Not feeling too confident. Haven't beaten United in the PL since 2017 which is incredible in itself as we used to always do well against them when Ferguson was around. United have been pretty good under Ten Hag after the 4-0 thrashing against Brentford very early in the season.
October 20, 20223 yr Spurs were awful tbf, but they did restrict United to only getting goals from outside the box attempts. One being a deflection from Fred and the other a fortunate placed finesse shot from Bruno. Half a decade since we've beaten them in the league. Mad.
October 20, 20223 yr Potter already outclassed ten hag once this season and the game prior to that he won 4-0 at home against United more of the same please really need Potter to come trough and do a tactical masterclass here

Would rather see Dave there, even though I would worry about his lack of pace. Chukwuemeka will probably be on the bench again for this one but might get some minutes. Pulisic deserves a start after his performance last night.
