November 2, 20223 yr Mendy - 5 - Didn't have much to do, was poor from the goal. Azpilicueta - 4 - Had a poor game, legs really have gone now. Chalobah - 7 - Solid again. Koulibaly - 5 - Poor for their goal, improved after. Chilwell - 8 - Brilliant going forward, should have had 3 assists at least. Jorginho - 7 - Actually looked good trying to be more adventurous. Went quiet when Zakaria went off. Zakaria - 8 - Excellent debut, looked strong defensively and going forward too. Nice to see some strength in midfield for once. Mount - 7 - Some really nice footwork throughout, I like this free roaming role he had tonight. Sterling - 6 - Took his goal well, wasn't much involved in anything else. Aubameyang - 4- Really don't see the point in him playing if he isn't going to play as a striker. We have other options that can play LW. Havertz - 7 - Linked up well, looked decent on the ball, never really had many chances on goal though. Subs: Thiago Silva - 6 - Filled in comfortably when he came on, missed a sitter though. Gallagher - 5 - Busy, quality on the ball wasn't great though and he should have scored. Broja - 5 - Don't know why he was bought on to play on the wing. Loftus-Cheek - 5 - Standard Loftus-Cheek at this point. Pulisic - 5 - Didn't have much time on the pitch to do anything. Edited November 2, 20223 yr by Scott Harris
November 2, 20223 yr Good win but still cant fathom him starting all those potential starters for Sunday, Arteta will play his kids tomorrow. Chilly don't look good, if its his hammy popped he's out for weeks, big miss with 3 tough matches coming up now - Gooners, Toon in EPL City in Cup. Positive we topped the group after that dodgy start, shame some players will miss the WC but if they rehab in time they'll be fresh for next January's run in

November 2, 20223 yr We really need to start handling our injury prone players a bit differently. They need to be the ones taken off around the 70 minute mark in dead rubber games and games where we are leading by 2 goals. It's such an unnecessary risk leaving them on when you know how bad the squad is when it comes to injuries. Protect our key players, we have no hope of competing for anything if they are spending months on the sidelines. Edited November 2, 20223 yr by Scott Harris
November 2, 20223 yr The injuries weren‘t worth the result. Why does Potter play Chilwell the whole 90 minutes wtf. Can this guy get one match right?

Not sure exactly what he could have done though. You can't sub the whole team. It can't be down to the guy whose job it is to pick the team, formation and tactics. This is a multi million pound venture. There are fitness and conditioning coaches working with individual players and formation sections whether defence, midfield or attack. These are the people that should be working better with the players and feeding into Potter who can play and how long for. Edited November 2, 20223 yr by WhiteWall

November 2, 20223 yr Think we struggle to bear any of those options to be fair. No one as weak as Lille.
November 2, 20223 yr Decent, but like Salzburg , not a team of PL standard. Ben's injury is unfortunate, his last injury was a cruciate ligament, not sure how anyone can foresee an injury to any player during the game, Ben was showing no signs that he had a problem with his hamstring before it ripped. how much bad luck are we having with James and Chillwell , I can't believe it's happened again. I hope he's not rushed back for that corrupt World Cup
November 2, 20223 yr I just hope Omari Hutchinson was not listed to play UCL football because otherwise, there was no reason not to let him have a cameo after teasing him with a position on the bench against Brighton; even though the game was lost anyway. Now, we have a run of difficult games before the World Cup, so his chance has been blown.

Strange how no one here was screaming for Ben to be subbed before the injury. of course everyone is clever afterwards , and Potter is to blame for not knowing Ben might do his hamstring
