The injuries weren‘t worth the result. Why does Potter play Chilwell the whole 90 minutes wtf. Can this guy get one match right?

Chilwell had played 2 full 90 mins in the last 5 games. He's had decent rest. Plenty people were calling for Chilwell to play the past week or so when he was rested, now people saying he shouldn't have played the full 90. Make ya minds up.

Horrible lucks with injury to key players, both Tuchel and Potter felt that by now. I got no problem playing Chiwell, he needs game time, and resting him for this game will not get him up to speed for Arsenal. It's just an unfortunate incident, he could have done the same during training. Look forward to another Sterling at LWB game, or could we get KK back and play Cucurella there?

If Azpilicueta, Koulibaly and Chilwell are all actually injured can we even name a back four/five? Possibly Zakaria out too. Jesus f**king Christ.

Add Kepa, Fofana, Kante to the list and anyone else you care to name...walking wounded FC

Nice game though it felt more like a friendly as we didn’t play for anything. Still, nice debut for Zakaria and good game overall. A pity about the injuries, though I feel that there’s nothing that can be done to prevent them other than sack the medical team and hire a new one. Roll on Sunday and up the Chels!

Zakaria came of with cramp, the Koulibaly sub for Silva was pre-planned.

Only Ben was injured and sadly looks a long term one again. And we don't have Alonso now...

While it sounds like Chilly will be out for a while, I am hopeful it won't be as long as last season. I'd say he is almost certainly out of the World Cup but he could be back not long after the restart.

Positives: Mount looked really good. Thought he was our best player on the night alongside Chilwell who got that unfortunate injury. Zakaria looked very good too and I know it isn't against a top team necessarily but very surprising that he has not managed even one minute. Has a good physical presence about him and glad he took his opportunity. Sterling getting back on scoresheet was bonus too. Thought other than the goal he was quiet but a goal is a good way to get back his confidence. I hope he is playing LW against Arsenal on Sunday as if he is up against White, he will cause him massive problems.

Cons: Injury to Chilwell and Broja not starting then using him out wide left then wide right. I did not understand what Potter was doing with Broja. I was annoyed he was not starting in first place as he started against Brentford and got subbed (not due to his performance) where he looked a threat but because that was his first ever start, Potter said he always planned on giving him around 60 mins. So I would have expected him to start another game since then and he has not and not as if our attackers have looked great in that period. What was more annoying last night was that he did not even play up front. He almost looked like a LM/LW then a RM/RW and we had Mount at the same time in the CF role. Was really confused.

But a small confidence boost before Arsenal. Annoyingly worst fear have arisen and Saka has returned to full training so will be starting on Sunday while our LB who would be most likely marking him that game now gets injured. A shame but hopefully Cucu steps up on Sunday. Bring on Arsenal!

Mount was really good? Reckon we watched a different match. He was arguably the worst player on the pitch; lost the ball 19x, passes were off all night (the worst %), made no key passes, none of his crosses picked up a player, and only completed one of his dribbles. How was that good?

IMO he has become a problem; worse goal return that Xhaka, Neves & Hojberg, and a worse assist return than Xhaka & Rodri in the league.

It looks as though, irrespective of current form, we will have to play Cucurella. I have been massively unimpressed by him so far, but there are no alternatives.

That was the match I was watching as well. Interesting that a few saw it so differently.

I thought Mount was way off it in the first half, did improve slightly in the second half, but for me Gallagher looked so much better than Mount when he came on. If it is a case of either/or, I'd be playing Conor ahead of Mase at the moment ...

Most of the stats and ratings web sites are in our camp btw 🙂

Was watching Chiller sprinting up the line towards the end of 90 and thinking it’s too late in the game for a fragile body to be doing that.
my other negative comment is that Brojaseemed to lack a yard of pace compared to what i expected. Otherwise great to see zakarua get on and most played well enough at this level. Mount was excellent and thought Gallagher also looked good in his cameo.

We definitely watched a different game. I thought he as our best player. Especially first half. Made some excellent runs, turns on the ball, created space and was very impressive. The pundits said the exact same thing.

Another diamond and it really concern me because nobody really play diamond anymore. Yes you can get away with it as surprise formation or against crappy opp (where it really doesn't matter what you play).

I watched Arsenal agains soton and no way diamond can work. Just a simple fb overlap and it will be very difficult for us to defend against it.

The way we play reminds me of how we looked under Lampard. We are far to open defensively and Arsenal would have really punished us if we were facing them yesterday.

Not a comprehensive win yet keeps the prevailing media noise about our manager is about to be sacked at any moment at bay for a bit longer.

Momentum is maintained though as we know Arsenal are a different proposition and for a change top of the table.

And we are at home to the Gunners with one day more rest, what an opportunity to send a message!

Mason Mount: "The lads have been battering me the last couple of games I've got man of the match as they don't think I deserved it, but today I don't think I deserve it!..”

I didn't watch the game. I just watched highlights but I don't like diamond

It wouldn't surprise me if the pressure motivated us to a glorious win !

I blame boehly. He sacked the physio and also the medical director..

😂😂 Mind you Reece and Ben got injured under Tuchel and that medical team.

Hopefully Todd replaced them and isn't treating them himself !

I’d have to agree. Why is our recovery so poor that has led our players’ muscles to be this fatigued and prone to injury?

Maybe we buy them like that.
