I think people forget just how bad he is by focusing on outfield issues like strikers. Looks like Raya will be displacing Ramsdale at Arsenal, agreed terms etc etc, so he's probably off the table.

It's quite obvious why we aren't doing anything about the GK situation. They don't want someone on Kepa's wages to be the second choice goalkeeper so when they couldn't shift him they made a financial decision and kept him on as 1st choice. That could backfire of course when we miss out on Top 4 again. Or alternatively none of the touted keepers, including Onana, are any better than Kepa, so why bother ?

Looked like a world beater between the sticks when on loan at forrest. Not happy to play number two at united.

Pre-season has gone well for him with 3 back to back losses anyway. Why would we miss out on top 4 solely due to Kepa? Defence was sound last year. We conceded the same as Liverpool with almighty Alisson between the sticks and only 2 more than Arsenal. If we miss out on top 4, it's because we score only 1 goal a game again.

August 2, 20232 yr That Fulham video reminds me of Billy Gilmour and we know what happened with him. Let's hope for a different story

August 25, 20232 yr He will be heading out on loan. Nottingham forest loan deal agreed apparently. So my saucy sources tell me.

Good little loan for him - given that he gets to play regularly, of course. With Ugochukwu surpassing him straight away in the pecking order, this was always the best solution. Exciting to see how he adapts to the premier league and how Forest plan to use him

August 25, 20232 yr Think its the best decision ultimately. Ugochukwu has far more experience than him and a profile we need in order to close games out as well as slotting in that lone DM spot when needed.
August 25, 20232 yr Really hope this one goes well for him. Feels like he's had a few push backs already in his short Chelsea career, so it would be great to see him kick on

How many midfielders do they have now? Really hope this was a calculated loan move as on the face of it I struggle to see where he will get game time.

Well said.. would have hoped we would have recalled him by now, & looked for another loan destination (even if that’s possible). Nottingham Forest never made any sense because they already signed Danilo for £22m in the summer who plays the same position as Santos.
September 1, 20232 yr My Forest supporting mates weren’t best impressed by his debut, nothing like football fans to write a 19 year old off after one game!

Pochettino had a good look at Santos in pre season, and subsequently we have signed Caicedo, Ugochukwu and Lavia who all play in the same position, and who are all only a couple of years older. Maybe the hype is just that ?

September 1, 20232 yr He was forward on the left on the team sheet from memory. Don't know where he finished up playing.

In the interim he needs to be playing lots of mins not feeding on scraps. Same applies to Ugochukwu and the other kids they have bought, problem is neither Nottingham Forest nor even Strasbourg are obligated to develop these players for us.
