9 hours ago9 hr Good fee for him no doubt about that. Rogers should be able to replace his goals. I don’t really mind he’s gone to be honest, but we are light in midfield now. Can’t understand why we left it to the 11th hr and then this Monaco deal falling through. Edited 9 hours ago9 hr by Dubair
7 hours ago7 hr Blew up in our face. Doesn't matter how much people wanted him gone, Enzo Fernandez is better than nobody, which is what we have been left with. City played our clowns and they played a blinder.

Last season it felt like we were stuck with him, due to the fee, wages, book value left etc, and most importantly.. it wasn’t even conceivable a club would take him. Maresca to City was our miracle. Missing out on Camara is a tragedy, but if you told me ‘in the trenches’ of last season and before when this thread was blowing up match day after match day (for the wrong reasons) we would somehow manage to offload him for a record fee, but… be short in midfield until January, most of us would have taken that!

Well the BlueCo twats allowed them to do it again, so f**k City. We should have told them to f**k off. I don't dislike Enzo so much that I would f**k up our season just to get him out of the club, that's absurd thinking. We have nothing at the club better than him, even with his limitations, and now we have lost his goals too.

And at a detriment to our midfield balance with him huffing and puffing around and misplacing passes.I still can’t believe City actually signed the guy.. when Real Madrid humbled him, and PSG couldn’t give a toss, it looked so bleak. City ACTUALLY being interested was precious, as there were no other takers (and never would have been). It overshadows tapping up Poundland-pep for me.

Rogers playing in a similar attacking role adds the same stats but also with the additional ability to carry the ball on the dribble, which Fernandez cannot do. Cherki has been known to have some serious attitude issues when things aren't to his liking. I doubt he makes it past this season with City.

1 hour ago1 hr Poor decision making by our sporting directors, purely on a football perspective. We have strengthened a direct rival whilst weakened our own position. Yes the money was good and the player wanted to leave but at some point or other we have start running this club as a sporting entity if we seriously want to compete. Yesterday through out a clear message that the deal)s) is more important, deadlines and bluster mean nothing. Compare that Athleti with Alvarez or even Monaco with Camara who have put their team first. An excellent window upto the last few days has suddenly put us in the same peril has last year when we was found wanting in defence and risked creating bad blood with our new coach.

At which point Palace will be relegated and we can throw our weight at a proper replacement in Wharton or get Camara on the cheap. You’re being needlessly dramatic, getting rid of Enzo was the most important thing in this window for squad harmony.

People are getting emotional without realising Enzo was never able to play in the position we were looking to strengthen. Rogers has already replaced him as the 10 and we’ve got enough people to get us to January with one game a week.

Anyway, I suspect we disagree on this. 😁There's little point speculating now—we'll see what happens. You think Pep was a one trick pony? His Barca, Bayern and City teams are all vastly different teams and systems. Christ, he’s had about 4 different systems at City alone. Insulting to try to say Enzo and Pep are similar in any way.

As I have already heard City fans on phone-ins say, he is no Rodri, or Yaya Toure - he is a pretty average footballer (with a big ego).

I still agree we have the numbers at least until January though. In terms of quality I'm less certain, but I would have felt the same way even with Enzo here. Good player, not what we needed. Anyways, having personally disliked Enzo for quite a long while, I am now finally free to hate him. Happy days for me🥰

1 hour ago1 hr Quite likely that KDH will AGAIN have a better season than Enzo Fernandez ... Enzo really isn't any loss and it's hilarious seeing how apoplectic 90% of the City fans are at his signing LOL. Maresca tone deaf as usual ...

He is damaged goods and him going to City is almost poetic.I would imagine that Barco will be starting in midfield on quite a number of occasions and maybe just maybe he or indeed one of the academy players may just be the answer. We effectively will only being two central midfielders with the wide midfielders effectively being wing backs. We can still sign free agents and yes they are free agents for reason but there are some possibilities if it’s just about legs .
