Theres a good player there, but he doesnt seem to have progressed from the run around dive in too much problem he had when he played for us, or on other loans. Pity, he would be handy otherwise.
February 11, 20233 yr https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11737753/Chelsea-hero-Hernan-Crespo-Enzo-Fernandez-one-best-history.html Interesting read. Crespo still loves the Chels. Also article goes on to dispel hes a world cup wonder and thats it. Seems he helped some minnow side win the south american equivalent of the europa league.
February 11, 20233 yr Love Crespo 😀 His fondness for Chelsea almost 15 years after he left remains evident in how he refers to them as ‘us’, ‘our Blues’ and ‘the pride of London.’

Never seen another forward with such wonderful movement and timing of his runs.
February 11, 20233 yr What an awesome player. He faded in the second half but kept the play ticking. Beautiful assist
February 11, 20233 yr Worth every penny. Haven't had a player like him since Fabergas. The problem atm is we don't have any striker to take advantage of his skills.
February 11, 20233 yr Ridiculously good player. When we have a top manager hopefully next season I can see Enzo being a KDB figure for us in midfield he'll be key for us. Edited February 11, 20233 yr by TimesUpPotter

Beautiful assist Yeah, but to be fair, the whole team fell apart in the 2nd half, including Felix and Madueke who have also been great in the 1st half. Edited February 11, 20233 yr by Upb78
February 12, 20233 yr Kinda looking like a bargain now considering he’s so young and will only get better playing in the PL. Can you imagine what he will be like in two to three years time.
February 12, 20233 yr Author Had zero worries with him adapting to the PL. Aside his obvious technical skill set, Argentines are sh*tehouses. He'll fit right in with the physicality of the league.
February 12, 20233 yr Love what we have seen so far. I hope he gets a decent partner to build a pattern with, and honestly a decent coach that can get the forwards moving better. Different player, but his two games give me the same feeling that pre-injury Essien always did - just all round really good footballer. They have different qualities, but both exude world class ability.

Literally every player that comes here talks about the speed and physicality of the league, no league comes close to the tempo of the prem. Agree he'll make it no matter what, just needs an anchor next to him to let him get forward more.

If we can somehow get Kante back to prime fitness and performance even for one season that would be unreal.

Anyone that watched him during Qatar saw that he controlled matches from deep while McAllister and DePaul were doing the box-to-box roles. I believe that Andrey Santos is our next box-to-box player though so in a 4-3-3 we could get a very good partnership of Andrey - Enzo - Gallagher.

For me he is the box to box player, finishing and passing in the final third is too good to be wasted sitting deep (not to mention the price tag). I'd agree until a suitable anchor is purchased it should be him and Kante with him sitting for the remainder of the season though.

Bring Mikel out of retirement for all i care, doesn't mean we should waste our £105m player sat infront of a back 4 when he has so much to offer going forward.

I'd rather try Zakaria - Enzo - Santos, with Zakaria at the base of the three. Gallagher is probably not going to be starting for any team with title aspirations .... plus if I am starting Enzo and Santos then I would want the third midfielder to provide some physical height !
February 13, 20233 yr Author If all goes well it will likely be Enzo-Santos at the base with Nkunku or Felix as the CAM. Santos still a bit too early though.

He will still make impacts in the final third (as we saw Saturday and nearly on his debut) but I feel the best way to use him is dictating the play and setting the tempo. I feel a sitter (and that's any sitter not trying to have a subtle dig at Rice) will get in his way in the first phase of the buildup.
