Did any of them managers have the same set of circs? new owners, new board and directors. 10 new players to integrate, disruptive season with world cup and no pre season? No. So stop comparing apples to oranges

Who will come in to the same shambles that Potter had to deal with. And after 3 months without a significant change, you will be crying out for whoever replaces De Zerbi. Becuase it's the stability and system Brighton have that allows the continuity- not the individuals Never wanted Potter over Tuchel here in the first place, didn't turn on him after 3 months. The only manager's I thought needed to go were Potter and Lamps, one was drastially underachieving and the other didn't know what they were doing

Roman would have sacked him 5 times before he was actually sacked.

Quite a few here mentioned Potter shouldn't have been sacked, where 3 weeks ago the very few who did want him to stay were ridiculed. The numbers suddenly don't align anymore. Yep - those of us with a bit of perspective and patience were ripped apart on here. Funny how short term thinkers also have short term memories

Did you back them as well, or did you want immediate success?
April 15, 20233 yr Julio Enciso's shot from a tight angle is saved by Kepa, who has been by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar the busier goalkeeper. And yes I meant that many As. BBC taking the p*ss now 😂
April 15, 20233 yr Just got home and watching the game Christ we are getting battered has it been like this all game ? frank bigs up mason then doesn’t play him ? What’s that all about

Mainly due to his record when it comes to developing young players. He then gave GP good young players to develop, and time to do it, the result being a 9th place last season with the 19th highest player wages in the leagues. Doesn't take weeks or months to build a dirty good team, it takes years - something neither your fans or owner understands.
April 15, 20233 yr OK been sat here watching this biting my tongue watching this disjointed effort. Its been absolute sh*t. Why is Sterling, Pulisic and Gallagher even on the pitch; all three have been shocking and if neither pulls a blue shirt on again I wouldn't lose any sleep. Can only see one team winning this game and it ain't the team in blue. And now Ziyech....f**king joke; was gone in Jan and we are still picking him over and above the young talent

Prioritising results in the here and now at the expense of a lack of long term vision, system or ethos

This is actually an improvement, even if Lampard loses all remaining matches he'll never have such a low win rate at Chelsea as potter has had. You have got to be joking!! LOL. Improvement!!!! Its the worst performance I've seen from a Chelsea team in 30 years!!

I love Lampard but it comes a time and point where you have to seperate the player from the manager. We're utterly clueless when we have the ball and I also believe players don't romanticize as much as us in terms of his appointment. He was just sacked because he was leading Everton to relegation, if you are a top player at a big club you expect a big coach. Tuchel came in and made us defensively strong, Lampard has come in and just made us even more wide open than under Potter. It's totally different to when we were under Robbie, we had Drogba, Terry, Lampard himself, Ivanovic, Cahill, Cech... I can go on. Football has changed since then and big personalities are a very rare breed. Young players need to be coached and just look at Villa when it comes to Gerrard and Emery. A hard work, play for the badge and giving it all manager to someone who's been there done that at a top level. The last thing I want to hear a manager say is "they need to know what its like to play for Chelsea" because to me thats just hiding their tactical insecurities. Edited April 15, 20233 yr by Sheva
April 15, 20233 yr Biggest issue is that Lampard isn't managing the team like an interim manager. Interim managers usually come in, pick the best team on paper and go with it until the end of the season. Frank keeps tinkering as if he's trying to solve the current issues at the team which isn't the job of an interim.

No it doesn't take years if you already have an established squad that has won the CL and that has been a stable top 4 team. potter just sucks.

There were plenty of other managers that we could have done the process with, Tuchel and Sarri being the best examples. I'm all for a process, but only with the right coach

By demand results, do you mean demand better than looking like a team in the relegation spots? If so, then yeah, I do demand better, because that is beyond pathetic. Most had accepted that we wouldn't qualify for Europe before Tuchel was sacked, we could all see that we weren't good enough, but nobody should accept this team playing like a bunch of relegation candidates. Look at Liverpool, they are sh*te this season, but they still pull out the odd performance and result, if we were doing that, then I could at least say there was something to believe in. We had none of that though, there was never any point where things looked like turning around.
