Jackson had Konate's number on several occasions given the amount of times he skinned him.

He has improved but as a striker, he is way off a player like Isak. You say Jackson is fundamental to how we play, but I have to disagree. Put any striker worth their salt in his place and we probably improve. We certainly didn't miss him last night and should have got close to double figures. That said, no doubt he will start against Spurs on Sunday and I hope he repeats his feat of last season (possibly the luckiest hat-trick I have ever seen!)

He has limitations but I am not going to pretend Isak is some massive upgrade when figures don't lie. Last night we played arguably one of the worst prem sides in history that rivals Derby 08'. The 2nd goal I am still baffled a top flight football club managed to concede that. Jackson is fundamental given we like to play through the middle and Jackson is effective in dropping and working the channels. He literally destroyed the entire Newcastle team doing this. Isak tried doing the very same thing and Lavia took the ball which led to Palmer getting the winner.

Facially, and body shape, reckon he closely resembles Pele of all people. Pele however, how more football intelligence in his left big toe nail, that Jacko has in his entire anatomy. In fairness, he’s improved a great deal this season. There’s legions of technically superior, less error prone forwards, who can’t match his scoring rate.

One things for sure, if both players were put up for transfer tomorrow, I know which player would attract the bigger clubs and higher bids and it isn't Nico.

He was decent against west ham, he was decent against Leicester. He had a good 10 mins against Newcastle. When else has he been good? 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡

Jackson will never score a goal as good as that. Probably not, this what I mean when I say Isak has "X-factor" as he can score goals like that from range. Problem is, he rarely does it, it adds up to a grand total of maybe 4-5 goals in all comps across the season over Jackson. I promise if you if Isak was here we'd be having the same complaints. For all his talent, he misses easy chances, dribbles like a drunkard in ice skates and his passing is erratic at best. His all-round game is rarely better than Jackson and he's nearly 3 years older. He's an upgrade for sure, but not much of one.

Isak may be better but not a massive upgrade imo.

December 6, 20241 yr Ant & Dec can keep Isak. Any player who moves to the Geordie Wastelands is a serial loser with zero ambition to win anything. Jackson on all the metrics is the better player than Isak this season.

December 6, 20241 yr Watched some interviews the other day from Maresca, Scott Parker and some other players on how social media influences players' mental health. Truth is players are on social media platforms, too and some pay attention to all the negative comments, but some others do not care about it. With Jackson I feel he is mentally very strong, he got a lot of abuse and still does, but the guy looks like he just does not give a sh*t. To me he looks like the kind of player that the jury will always be out for him no matter what. Don't think he'll ever put Kane, Haaland type of numbers in the PL, but his improvement as a player ever since he's come here is clear for everybody to see, he looks better and better with each and every matchday. To me personally it looks like he is at least 3 seasons away from entering his peak years and if he will continue to have this trajectory in terms of development, IMHO he will be a top striker.

Messi and Ronaldo are/were often slated on the internet so it happens to everyone. If I was a PL player I wouldn’t go anywhere near football forums on the internet that’s for sure. It’s a cess pit of lunacy. I’ve probably been guilty of it myself. As far as Jackson is concerned he’s doing really well. Too many of our fans still see Chelsea as the club we were under Roman. We almost always bought players who were ready to play. If they didn’t produce they were shipped out again. This new model requires a certain level of patience. It’s clear lots of people on this forum don’t have any patience whatsoever. Cucu was slaughtered for a good 18 months. Not too many dissenting voices now. Enzo the same although he’s only at the beginning of his upward trajectory just now but the last month has been a real improvement. Jackson gets the same. Felix has been written off too but is beginning to show what’s required. We need to be patient with these guys.

What I'm looking for is a class above at a similar profile. Nkunku is a better footballer than Jackson - better finisher, better with his body in duels etc, but he's the wrong profile for the position. Find me those same attributes but in a striker who can do what Maresca wants or... stick with Jackson.
December 7, 20241 yr Will be missing the game tomorrow as at the F1 and then Muse concert afterwards…. ….but fear not, normal service will be resumed on Monday once I have had the chance to watch the replay - and when I will be back on here, either a) rubbing it in after another sh*t performance or b) taking my medicine after a game winning display. I know where my money is (literally in this case - unlike many others who have not signed up to put their money where their mouth is)
