So sick and tired of every manager reverting back to this formation, sick and tired of piss poor goalkeepers between the sticks (all Sanchez’ fault for that Antonio goal). Mudryk a deer in the headlights yet again. We’ve got midfielders who can’t score, wingers who can’t score.. all things considered you wonder if we might as well have just splurged all the funds on Mbappe and called it a day. Even in a months time when results improve.. watch most of the goals come from full backs and centre backs.

Tottenham seemed to have signed a better manager too, just to add salt to the wounds.

Imo I don't think poch made the correct decision subbing Chilwell and Gallagher out. Those two are among our best goalgetter. I also want poch to push silva up high as st to add additional body in the box after the red card. 

Not sure what game you watched tbh.

Sky showed a graphic to show that since the sending off we only touched the ball in their box 4 times and hadn't had a shot on target. Not sure what part of that performance was fine cos it looked pretty sh*t to me.

The only positives are that the next 4 fixtures are rather good (on paper), before we finally get to the Villa game at the end of September. And f**k me, does Poch need to get things together, it’s these early season points that Tuchel picked up last season that saved us from relegation.

It’s time for Lukaku. Yes, I’ve seen enough. It’s that bad. We need a striker. Jackson needs a strike partner. We need a body in the box, and if he could just stand about in the box he might get a few goals by accident, instinct or luck, because, let’s be honest, no one else in the squad seems capable of scoring. 

I am still in awe of what I saw from Sterling today. If he manages to keep this form up he will be a menace. 
 

 

Over the last two games I came to the following conclusion: 

KEEP CALM AND TRUST THE PROCESS....

I managed to catch the last 12 minutes of the first half, we get a pen, Surprised Sterling or Jackson weren’t takers, then we bring on Mudryk, pace to burn, and that’s it, I’ll give Caceido a easy ride, other than that, let’s say…..it’s interesting to say the least

Went to the game and can't believe we sp***ed all that money on over rated players and we look no different than last year. I know its early days but we look so light weight. We are never going to win any physical battles on that pitch as everyone looks like they are built like tammy Abraham.  I just hope we can turn it round against Luton  because unless we get three points it's going to be a long season. I did say 10th before we bought in all these players . I suppose we must be patient  I'm just really dissapointed that we couldn't even get a point against 10 men

Well, we dominated most of the game.  We were unlucky.  The game might have gone our way had Enzo managed to take a decent penalty when we were at 1-1.  But, the real problem is that. . . There is a lack of fluency to the team.  The team needs to play together more. Pocchetino had no business bringing on Caicedo – he looked lost – he hasn’t even had a proper pre-season and he was a disaster.  Worst debut ever? Losing Chukwuemeka was a real problem – any news on his injury?   Madueke is lacking imho. I want to like him, I want him to be good, but I just see a very predictable player.  Mudryck needs to worry less, think less, and go with his instinct more.  Gusto has pace and did some good defensive work. Colwill has promise. Gallagher gets involved. Jackson was great, but he desperately needs a goal and he faded towards the end of the game. Enzo cannot take penalties, who can?

I'm not sure where you get the brown nosing, I have no idea who Valerie is simply quoted a post but whatever helps you sleep at night! He had a very poor cameo but making a snap judgement on the value of a player after 15 mins was in my opinion a baffling position to take irrespective of the penalty after that and I stand by that. If you can't handle other people having an opinion on your takes without resorting to name calling, then maybe a forum isn't the right place to air your views.

I have seen better penalties taken in the women's World cup compared to what Enzo did today.  The lad also missed a penalty for Argentina in the world cup , why the hell was he put on spot kicks and why did he have the captains arm band after Chilwell got taken off even though sterling and silva were still on the pitch.

I said in an earlier post that the Liverpool game reminded me of the Spurs game last season. Good performance, deserved a win but ended with a draw with lots of positivity and straight after we were immediately humbled.

I hope my fears don't come true. These 100m signings have never excited me. Firstly because these players were nobodies 12 months prior with no proven sustained experience and secondly they aren't what we really need (goalscorers).

Even with 1 man advantage, I had the faintest hope that we could pull one back but I honestly couldn't see 2 goals. 

Incredible. Whenever we go a man down, we lose our advantage or concede a late goal. 

Such an embarrassing defeat. It's too early for me to doubt Poch but it's not too early for me to write off this squad. Absolutely wasted rebuild.

Agree with you about the "Couldn't see us getting 2 goals" part. We actually do create a bit more than we were last season, but I don't currently see who is going to weigh in with goals. Jackson will likely score a few although he needs a goal to build confidence. With that in mind it was ridiculous that he didn't take the penalty. Nkunku should score a few once he is back. Sterling usually gets a few. But we need a lot more than that. Our midfield has no goals in them currently, and the last couple of years we've relied massively on goals from defenders.

If we don't sort that out then we will have to massively tighten up our defense or it will be a long season.

Every team in the entire league will have a great chance of beating us if they sit back and counter. Doesn't matter if its home or away, load the box and we will struggle. Luton next won't be a walk in the park despite the fact that another loss would be a proper disaster.

Worst bit is that they were sh*te, if they play like that, they’ll be battling relegation (and if we keep playing like today, will get relegated).

This Mudryk kid really needs to step up and fast! We don't have goalscorers but we still have a striker and 2 wingers. Between them 3, we need some numbers on the charts.
