Maybe trying to ensure we don't get pumped 6-1. Goal difference will matter at the end of the season. But then we're sure to get relegated if we get points docked like Everton.

At that point we also still had 11 players on the pitch. If we had nicked a goal back then perhaps we could have salvaged a point. Newcastle didn't look great at the back. But once Reece went off it was well and truly over.

Not watched the game yet and probably won’t tonight I’ll save for the morning before my Sunday preys 😂

1. talk of replacing Poch is ludicrous

2. Inconsistency is typical of a club up and coming that have bought in a load of youngsters,  it reminds me very much of Citeh and The dippers when their managers first come in

3. we need a long term replacement  for Silva, he is probably our best player still but at 39, that’s not acceptable

3. We will finish mid table, if you haven’t lowered your expectations for this season some months ago then more for you.

Newcastle, Villa and Spurs are managing their transitions better than we are.

Could be 8 behind United tomorrow. A united in crisis.

No you interpreted that wrong. Improvement is needed meaning If the goal is to progress from last season, we need to see better from both Poch and the players.

I think we will improve. But I also expect us to have a lot of inconsistency this season with a mostly young and inexperienced squad. Even looking beyond the indiscipline shown by the likes of Reece, I thought even Palmer was poor today. He has generally been our best player in the last month or 2 but he will have off days and today was one of them.

So you think we should sack him and look for a new manager?

Yes, team selection is equally important to a team. Including the case of Thiago Silva. Thiago Silva is getting old, the manager sees him in training, he is the one to make decisions.

I've said it before, our midfield should be Caicedo, Enzo and Palmer. On the wings, we should be Mudryk and Madueke. Instead he will use Gallagher and Sterling.

He has to go.

We will likely see 8-10 more performances like this Newcastle one this season. That I am sure of.

Will you be happy for us to change the manager, so that such a thing does not happen.

Who available is better than Poch? No one. Let him steer the ship for the remainder of his thankfully short contract. Can make the decision to renew or get rid until then.

There can be better options than him. So many assistant managers in some clubs can even be better than him. There are many human beings in the world.

This is why I'm not happy, we the fans should not be complaining that the team is not good, the manager is not good, and yet say we should not sack the manager.

I think his constant use of Gallagher is getting irritating and I'm hoping that's changing when Nkunko comes into the mix but I'm not sure.

But other than that, very harsh, sacking Pochettino right now would be a silly decision as there's nobody else who's going to come in and do a better job is there? We've got a project, we need to stick to it, starting over again will be taking 20 steps back. This isn't a Lampard to Tuchel situation, this is a genuinely inexperienced team full of youngsters who've barely played together, nobody is going to come in and make this team winners overnight.

This is the same thing people said about Potter, saying sh*t like "even a gardener would do better than him" the moment he was sacked the team's performances plummeted and we barely got a point for the rest of the season.

I know emotions are high and people are concerned after this performance but sacking Poch is ridiculous.

This forum is f**king mental after each game, after the City game many on here were optimistic, now I've seen a good portion of posters wanting Poch sacked, Silva needs to retire, the whole team is sh*te, etc.

Ugh.. It's going to be a long season isn't it.

Given I was adamant KDB should have been starting every game for us that's a swing and a miss.  Salah surprised me but he didn't get the game time and had a great record before coming here.  Can't say the same about our flops.

Surprised you're not talking about how well we played today. It's your usual dross after every bad result and performance.

Well seeing how you claim to have been on the SE forums from 2012, the same season De Bruyne signed, maybe a few of us old timers will remember you shouting about how good KDB was going to be.

Anyone? No, me neither.

Totally agree. And I suspect that would be the same even with different managers.

It's about perspective I suppose.

Personally I thought the positivity merchants on here were mental acting like we were on the up after getting a last minute penalty to draw against City and extend our results to 1 win in our last 4 and 5 wins in our last 24.

Luton won today I don't think any of their supporters are talking up a title charge but when we get a draw against City people spend the whole breaking talking about us going on a run?

We've shown nothing to suggest we're a side capable of that and haven't been for over a year now.

We've played many games in the premier league this season, he hasn't given both Mudryk and Madueke proper chances this season, every other player has been given good chances to play, but not Mudryk and Madueke, I'm not sure any of them have started three matches for us in the premier league this season, we have better midfielders this season, they should be allowed to play with them to prove themselves.

Mudryk was expected to be a good player when we bought him, the owners should be asking him questions about Mudryk. Mudryk travels to Ukraine and plays well, but the manager doesn't use him at Chelsea.

I disagree, the only solution to a manager not doing well is for him to be sacked. Fans should learn to support the manager and the team as much as they can do, but when the manager is no longer doing well, he has to go.

I don't care if we have 200 managers in a season, if that is what we have to do, we have to do it. If not, we shouldn't come to the fans forum and be complaining that the team is not doing well, what is the way out? If the manager has to go, he has to go.

You've made the same weird comment a couple times but it would make more sense if we actually won games I went too.

Well strangely you weren't around posting much during and after the Tottenham game. But then I'm certain you were at that game.

In the new North Stand Paxton End with all the rest of the Spurs fans.

I don't know if Conte is still available, but if we can get the Conte that won us the premier league again, I will take it.

At least I'm sure the better players will play, and the average players will play in the Carabao cup.

Anyone on here go to the game. Heard a caller on talk sport say on Broja and Silva came over to the away end to applaude them.

That is shocking after such a long trip and awful display, and leaves me very disappointed in several players, especially our captain and stand in captain.

Who took over as captain when Reece got sent off? if that is accurate it is the icing on top of a very poor showing today.

This the problem with this Chelsea team and players, after few games of decent performance it inevitably crashing down. International break had a bit to do with it, Thiago has his once a year shocking game, Cucu gone back to that sh1t player we all remembered from last season, Gallagher doesn't have the quality when you wanted him to make the difference, Enzo can't score to save everyone's life,  and the expensive young players ( bought for the future) who couldn't handle bigger and stronger opposition. Again, any talk of a top 4 needs to take a reality check. Newcastle wasn't even that good, they did the basic and capitalized on all the mistakes we gift wrapped for them
