Embarrassing performance

Discipline starts at the top... the manager sitting in the stands speaks volumes

Free kicks we gave away far too many, food and drink to a side that thrives on them

Woeful in defence

We need to grow up as a side quickly, stupid yellows have a cost and the more senior players need to start to show leadership and I've not even started about our attack

Jackson has already served a suspension for mouthing off to the refs in every game.

Yes they would. They wouldn't be under the same pressure to win a game like they would be under at Chelsea. The experience around them would take all of that pressure and they would be given time to grow. We need to throw these young players in and ask them to win us games of football because that is all we have.

No they wouldn't.

Bottom teams need discipline, structure and work ethic even if they don't have quality.

There's not a chance Everton, Luton or Burnley would take Mudryk he's so bad off the ball he'd compromise their entire structure.

He'd need actual attacking quality for them to consider the trade off and he hasn't shown it.

Mudryk and Madueke's work ethic is fine, it's composure on the ball where they struggle.

Stop pretending that replacing one young player for another would have made all the difference. You don't win with kids in this sport, never have and never will.

I just know you're the type of person who would've said Salah and KDB wouldn't make the Championship back in 2015.

Given I was adamant KDB should have been starting every game for us that's a swing and a miss.  Salah surprised me but he didn't get the game time and had a great record before coming here.  Can't say the same about our flops.

Surprised you're not talking about how well we played today. It's your usual dross after every bad result and performance.

Build a team around Enzo and Caicedo your having a laugh A terrible wast of money they sum up  everything that is wrong with this club

Sure you were, both players were very raw and struggled. Not saying Mudryk or Madueke are going to become world class, but it's worth playing them to see if they can develop.

And coincidentally, you're not at the game today? You're always at the game when we get a good result, you need to start going more in that case.

But no, we didn't play well today, I didn't think we would win this one anyway go look at the first page. I didn't come here with blind optimism, but I'm not going to make excuses for a sh*tty performance like that.

Even with their problems the curse of st. James Park carries on.

That was embarrassing. We are worried about Lesley being a red card waiting to happen and our captain gets himself sent off. That is shambolic now he misses Brighton.

Only Caicedo missing from Spurs and City and we play like that.

Our defence is not good enough.

I'm guessing you weren't a Chelsea supporter in 2015.  Incredibly strange comment to say KDB struggled when he played about 3 games and was man of the match in 1.

Not remotely comparable to poor quality "prospects" that have struggled to control a ball week in week out for a year.

You've made the same weird comment a couple times but it would make more sense if we actually won games I went too.  We've 1 win in our last 14 at the Bridge and the City game was the only good performance in them.

We're consistent and not in a good way.

Team reflects its leader. The off pitch leader is sitting in the stands on a 3 match ban. The on pitch leader has been sent off for a 2nd yellow after picking up the first yellow for poor sportsmanship. Have a few more examples in this match alone.
Constant rotation at back because of too many defenders with too many knocks means similar outcomes are to be expected.
Lot of work still to do w this fledgling team.

Well that fell apart pretty quickly. Don’t think we’ll be seeing Badashiele and Big Les for a while. Saying that, Silva and Cucurella were at fault for two of the goals, Gallagher missed a sitter and James had a shocking day.

Thought we were lucky to be going in level at half time. Poch should maybe have made some changes to shore things up instead of waiting till we were 3-1 down. Not sure we’re good enough to get top six now unless we bring in a proper striker. Jackson was utter tripe.

Yes, let's drop the 2 players who aren't even the common denominator to our current defensive woes.

KDB had a very good debut against Hull City and grabbed an assist, but he was sooner booted out the team because Oscar worked harder (and tbf, he was also in great form at the time too), but I remember a few cup games he struggled in, same with Salah. I loved watching KDB highlights when he was at Genk, he was running that league at the age of 17, I was jumping with glee when we first signed him. So no, I always liked KDB and I thought selling him was harsh, but lets not pretend he wasn't struggling in some games, because I remember many Chelsea fans didn't care about letting him go. And Chelsea fans were certainly harsher on Salah.

So yes, I think it's fair to say I was definitely a supporter then.

But anyway, enjoy the loss, you've probably been w**king over the idea of this result.

Btw, really disappointed in James and Silva today. They are supposed to be leaders, but  folded quite quickly when the going got though today

Agreed. It was always going to be tough, but some dreadful mistakes and ill discipline cost us big. The likes of Reece and Thiago should be leading by example.

Manchester United are 5 points ahead of us with the possibility of being 8 points clear come the end of the weekend. And there is talk about sacking their manager.

That's because they have higher expectations, they didn't finish 13th last season.

From the moment Reece James took that free kick instead of letting Sterling take it, considering he’d scored already from a similar position in this match, our decision making was woeful.

I would argue it was the incident right before half time where things turned. We were showing some decent signs towards the second part of the first half. JoeLinton rightly got a yellow for the foul on Reece, but then Reece stupidly lost his discpline and got a stupid yellow. That was a terrible way to end the half and we never got our discpline back after that. Second half performance was dreadful all around.

What? no he hasn't. That was his first big error in like 2 years. He's been our only good defender in years too.

Usual over reactions from some idiots. :face_palm:
