Everton vs Chelsea (PL) Sun 10th Dec 23 14:00 GMT

I think we can win this despite Poch who will undoubtedly pick the wrong team. We will have plenty of ball. James may even get though an entire 90 minutes although probably not.
‘I’d pick the same front 4 as last game but Poch will drop mudryck and play Conor. Dunno which lucky dip back line he will go for but 2:1 on he picks Silva

What's annoying is that the back line will likely be changed again.

Any reason why Badiashile was randomly dropped?

I believe he had slight Injury and they didn’t want to risk making it worse

These constant injuries on players who don’t even play is questionable. So many set backs.

That is worthy of a thread of its own.  Starting with the injuries to Chilwell and James.  Surely those were mismanaged.   Then you've got the injuries to Lavia, Nkunku and Chukwuemeka.  Seemingly minor injuries at the time, but they've been out for 5-6 months.  WTF.  Give them another month and they could  have about recovered from a full knee reconstruction in that time.  Questions need to be asked!

Bournemouth have been so much better today vs Man Utd than we were. If that's the standard of play we take forward we lose this 2-0.

I'm just glad it's not live and I'm not remotely surprised Boehly doesn't bother turning up to watch us any more.

Boehly's a useless c**t

Just shows how bad we are of late if Bournemouth can put 3 past Utd at Old Trafford, because they fought hard albeit Utd are sh*t and been getting away with jammy points this season.  If we don't show up tomorrow we'll be sliding down the table faster than Bambi on ice.

Better get something out of this game, another defeat the Monday headline will be about Poch's job security, and we will be scrapping it out with the teams in the lower end like last season under Potter.

We are not getting anything from this a 2-0 loss. Everton the good this for me is it’s not on Sky TV or peacock who I don’t have to worry about forcing myself to watch it 😂

Hard to be positive for tomorrow. My heart says they’ll do it, but my brain says they’ll fold under the slightest bit of pressure at an intense Goodson. KTBFFH!

That's my prediction in the Zeta thread lol.

Would like to see Broja up top, and Jackson in his natural position of left wing. See how he does with more space.

I was feeling positive after our run of games against Arsenal, Spurs and City but the abject performance against Utd makes me believe we may as well write the season off.

With that in mind I don't see the point in continuing with Sanchez, Silva and Cucurella. None of them can be part of the long term plan. I have a panic attack every time the ball is passed to Sanchez, our defence has been poor and a 39 year old Silva isn't distinguishing himself and Cucurella is Cucurella.

With that in mind I'd like to see

Petrovic

James

Badiashile

Colwill

Maatsen

Enzo

Caicedo

Palmer

Gallagher

Mudryk

Broja

I agree Silva's feet just aren't moving as fast as his brain, but the others haven't played together enough pus Silva has a calming influence and looks after the others as poor as our defence has been the last few weeks.  Broja has to come in for Jackson, who for me is to light weight against most centre backs in this league, he needs to put on some muscle.  Still not convince yet by Mudryk, has pace but not much of a footballing brain to play at this level, although I am sure he will improve if he's here next summer.  Very disappointing with our midfield who are all over the place, which allows the opposition to be onto our back four far to quickly.   Given Everton's recent efforts and our inconsistent form we'd do well to come away with a point today.  Until Potch tightens up our defence and everyone is fully fit we are going to be languishing in mid to lower table for a while yet.

Yesterday's results a concern, Bournemouth & Wolves now on equal points. Must not lose.

Thank goodness Brentford and Palace lost...even Fulham could go above us if they beat West Ham today and we drop points.

I agree on Silva's calming influence but just think with the season being written off we're better off getting the others playing together more as he probably won't be around next season.

On tightening up the defence maybe we would benefit from going 3 at a back and using our pace to counter. Being hard to beat might be the best we can hope for at this point.
