Not excusing the pass though as it was shocking,

This is the problem with signing bang average wingers. One winger f**ks up, and the other isn't good enough to rescue it. Guiu is shouting to Garnacho to play it through, he can't react quick enough though and losses it.

Literally just needs a quick outside of the right foot pass to Guiu who is clear 1v1.

Just sh*t all round from Neto and Garnacho.

I wonder ho much this is down to the managers "tactics", not wanting them to play risky passes, always look for the percentage play. We rarely seem to play strikers in, or even attempt to. Our wingers first aim is to not lose the ball, even if it means going back to the CB, or even keeper sometimes.

Nuh. In this case it was just crummy decision making and skills.

I agree, but if all you practice in training is keeping the ball, and all that gets drilled into your head at video sessions is to not lose the ball, you're not going to be in a headspace where you think about attacking.

If your training to not play that kind of ball then you second guess yourself, our players are blatantly told to prioritise keeping possession, in a situation like that where instinct is usually the pass thats on he hesitates and f**ks up. It happens all the time all over the pitch with us, from keeper to striker, they just arent plying with instinct or any kind of freedom.

Basically what Sidney said better than me....

This is what happened to Palmer in the 2nd half of last season. He would hold on to the ball for too long and delay a pass or shot. A negative coach will eventually negatively effect the decision making of the players.

Thought he was crap yesterday, but I did want to say I was happy he celebrated his goal. Not celebrating goals against former teams, barring a few exceptions (like when Frank scored against us for Man City), is absolute nonsense.

I thought he was good, not great, defo not poor. His ball retention and balance is really good for a short guy. Carries the ball well.

On a interesting note, he seems on course for his best goalscoring return. He already is on 3 league goals. 1 less than the whole of last season's tally in the league.

Have also been pleasantly surprised by his ability to stay injury free given that he appeared to have a lot of problems with games missed with Wolves in the season or two before joining us.

@GarnachoCheese you going to give some credit to Neto for once. You been trash talking about him and put in an all round top performance.

0.12 xA

25% accurate crosses

14 possessions lost

Zero defensive contributions

Sorry, I won’t be deceived by a free header at the back stick. A game lasts for 90 minutes, not 10 seconds.

I think we need to stop overly praising players for moments. Neto scored a nice header and played a decent pass to Guiu, but like almost every player yesterday, I didn't see a consistent 90+ minute performance out of him. Tosin played a really nice pass over the top for Cucurella that led to Neto's goal, but nobody is praising him, and it's because he was also very inconsistent throughout the 90 minutes yesterday. Gittens too, he played a nice cross for the assist, but the rest of the game, he was pretty sh*t.

Santos was the only player yesterday that I thought played consistently well throughout the whole game, maybe Cucurella too. Everybody else was poor or a mixed bag. I want to see performances from players where they consistently play well throughout the 90+ minutes, not 20 seconds of it.
