No he’s not he’s our best player at running fast in a straight line!!!

He only has that title because Mudryk has gone to Spurs and struggles to run in a straight line.

He had to take performance enhancing drugs just to run a straight line for us and even then, he still couldn’t f*cking manage it.

Gets a lot of stick, rightly so TBF, but he played well tonight.

He has put in a good shift from pre-season to the season kicking off but people rarely appreciate when he does well and when he doesn't perform, he is the first to get trash talked on. You have other players who when are basically made available for sale, go on strike or don't give 100%. Neto has given 100% even when his future is uncertain. Definitely under appreciated and despite a huge majority of fans not rating him, no coincidence that Alonso continues to select him..

If only his brain worked as quickly as his legs do, he would be so much better. He can get into some superb positions with his runs and dribbles, but his decision making is still pretty poor overall.

I feel certain people just love to dish out criticism for the sake of it and have double standards. He puts in a shift and scorers a good goal, then he still gets criticism. He has a game now where he doesn't perform then the whole firing brigade come out. I think everyone knows he is not world class but he defo is a squad player and there is a reason all managers continue to select him, including Alonso who is our most highly regarded manager in a while. I assume he is as retarded because he sees something in Neto that others don't 🙄

@STATS I 100% agree. Is he close to world class or ever going to be? Of course not. But he is a good Premier League player with certain qualities and is always trying to make things happen.

You need players like him in your squad if you want to challenge for things. And I think at wingback he is a good, attacking option.

People complain that we have a squad full of wonderkids, but then want to bin Neto for Estevao and Quenda (who they have probably only youtube highlights of)...

Most players aren't world class, but football is a squad game and players like Neto are valuable. Also I quite enjoy him in that wingback role. Some people are going to be surprised how many games he is going to play there when Palestra is fit. Both players can play on either wing and Alonso has already experimented with starting Palestra as LWB and Neto as RWB in pre season.

Let’s see how it goes.

He hasn’t done that bad this season IMO.

Of course he’ll frustrate more than he’ll impress but fair play to him City wanted him but unlike Enzo he stayed to fight for his place under Xabi.

Ok, I’ll go and get my coat…

He's not Malo Gusto and our only other WB is injured?

If Palestra was fit, Neto would of played LWB so this isn’t true.

Figured.

I said a while back I think Alonso rates him, and there were murmurs that a few players are getting extensions.

I think the plan is to have Neto and Palestra bombing down the wings on both flanks, as we saw in preseason.
