Apparently he's not going to join us in USA for the Club World Cup as he's fot England U-21 duties. Seems silly and strange but ok

Watkins was a crappy promoted English striker a few seasons ago.

Not totally sold on Delap yet credit to the club for acting early on.

My fear with Delap is he will give away too many yellow cards due to his physicality if he joins us.

Reading that apparently we're after another striker as well as Delap, which would point to Jackson leaving. I'd be very happy with Ekitike/Gyokeres/Osimhen as our striker options

I'd say it's more a case of hope than hype ... hope that he will turn out to be as productive as he was in City U-21s the last time he was in a team with Palmer and Lavia, and managed by Maresca.

Sorry was just making a joke about Watkins and Isak, seeing as you were dismissing Delap as a "Newcastle or Villa" level striker, so inference that any strikers that were currently playing for those teams were below what we should be looking for :-)

Sounds like Delap now a done deal though.

Good luck to him. I'd have preferred Osimhen as well, but we're obviously not prepared to spend to that level !

Well let’s see how this one turns out we need experience and we are still going down the same route of youth.

Surely Delap wouldn't have accepted us if he wasn't assured of a lot of playing time?

He's not there level now. He's below them. Unproven. Its a big risk to make him first choice. The price tag of 30m is good but we need better.

Good signing if it happens, fits the owners profile, young prospect, low fee, low wages and long contract, proved he can score in this division, back up not leading the line just yet though ?
