May 29, 20251 yr Really good signing this. Proper centre forward when there are literally only a handful in football now. We are actually going to be able to cross a ball again and someone might get on the end of it. Absolutely minimal risk at the price, it's a no brainer.

May 29, 20251 yr For me still unknown how big his ceiling is, but 30M is too good to pass up for such a young PL proven player. Is he good enough to lead the line for a club willing to challenge for major trophies? Not yet, I believe. But he is a twat and a battering ram and we were in need of this kind of player to bring back the Diego Costa sh*thousery on the pitch.
May 29, 20251 yr Havent seen many of his games but I did like the way he played against us when we faced Ipswich. Hopefully he turns out a good surprise like Palmer
May 29, 20251 yr Like Sancho , the fee is a no brainer, we’re unlikely to be bit at that price. The more pertinent question is, Is he good enough or enough of an upgrade to lead our line? Hopefully yes, I really like a bit of a battering ram type 9.

May 29, 20251 yr Hopefully he is not the only striker we go for this summer and we bring another striker with more experience. And we can then sell Jackson.
May 29, 20251 yr I'm still not convinced about this guy. I just wish we would get a striker ready right now, not another player who could go either way, but who are the options in that category? Isak? not really an option. Newcastle would never sell him to us. Osimhen? his wage demands make things impossible. Watkins? A bit on the older side now and is a bit of a streaky striker. Lautaro Martinez? He won't leave Inter for us, he's another on the older side and I'm not convinced he would fit in the Premier League anyway. Julian Alvarez? only been at Atletico for a season, so he would cost a sh*t load of money. Gyokeres? I don't see why we couldn't get him.The young strikers are all a gamble and hard to tell who would end up being the best of the lot. Delap is the most tempting because he's the easiest to get. May 29, 20251 yr '"Gyokeres? I don't see why we couldn't get him."Club could his release clause is 100 mill Euros but Sporting have just said that no club has come in for him yet and they will accept not a euro less then 80 million. Which is 67.5 mill pounds twice the price of Delap. Club could activate his reduced release clause right now and get a jump on other suitors if they wanted to. May 29, 20251 yr Ipswich signed him for £15m, so the release clause is insane all things considered, his agent did well there!Got a great strike on him, tall and stocky, ideal frame for the prem, bit of a high risk dribbler though, hence why they’re saying he’s not good at holding onto the ball. Seb described him as the Connor Gallagher of strikers, and I can see where he’s getting at with that. Overall, a fairly risk-free addition, and we can rotate him with someone else with different traits. Hard to see this as a flop, with the fee involved, so fair enough really.

Lukaku is overall a good striker but his attitude is absolutely terrible.I never watched Jackson and I just knew by looking at him the kind of player we were getting. His stats and experience at top level were nothing too.Oshimein has a healthy number of years of top level experience.

May 29, 20251 yr Blokes got rizz similar to Drog, bullies defenders, ability to score from anywhere, absolute presence.Didier Delap. Edited May 29, 20251 yr by The Boehly Babes
May 29, 20251 yr Good signing if it goes through. Cheap, young, homegrown. Im totally behind this, not to mention this means less Jackson.get this one done.

May 30, 20251 yr Delap is a brilliant singing from a pure transfer perspective. He comes to us in pretty much identical circumstances to Nicolas Jackson when he joined us from Villareal (11 goals, 35m) except that he is also British/homegrown, which instantly commands a premium. He scores 10 goals and stays fit and we can flog him for 40m next year if we don't want him. Football wise, I like him. Unfortunately I think he has similar deficiencies to Jackson (good on the ball but not great, agile but not quick, tall but not good in the air) at this stage and needs good coaching to improve those aspects of his game. Delap is also not as good as Jackson in bringing other players into, which I think might frustrate some fans. One edge he does have is that he shoots with power, which none of our other forwards do and is so rare in the game. Another edge is that he actually uses his frame to pin defenders, whereas Jackson can't/won't. But the biggest difference is that he thinks about his game more, plays with patience and deliberation, which Jackson decidedly does not do. On Jackson, this is now his Drogba-moment. We all know how Drogba exploded when Shevchenko arrived and Jackson has the chance to do the same.

Jackson is the worst player chelsea have had play for them - at all - but definitely up front - for the last 30 yrs. He is an awful footballer. Cant shoot, head, finish, use his body to win duels, no composure and no football intelligence.
