Well that was good. And it was 4-1 in my world as I missed the first quarter of an hour.

It was slightly in that vain again where I think we played really well and deserved to win, and could have won by even more, but we still managed to chuck in a decent bit of sloppy/doggy football and make it a little stressful.

I still don’t think we’re able to win the league, but top four looks almost a given.

A doth my cap to Maresca because I assumed that we were in for more of the same, and maybe even duller, but we’ve been a goal scoring machine and he’s absolutely transformed our two 105 million pound midfielders. They’ve gone from Bakayoko to Ballack level performances.

We can win the league. Why not? I don’t rate Liverpool as highly as their points total suggests and City and Arsenal levels have dropped compared to the two seasons before.

I think it will be a big transfer window for all 4 teams. Getting the right player in can easily propel any of the top4 to the title. If we only sign one player it has to be a CB. Murillo at Forest for me as he has PL experience.

If I could be greedy then a keeper too but Jorgensen deserves a crack as first choice.

Whether Maresca believes it or not we are definitely in the race.

At 2 0 down I hadn't for a second given up hope.  My three main thoughts being

1. Did I think we could best them by 2 or 3 goals at kick off? Yes

2. So we can do that in 80 minutes

3. It's Spurs, they are total f**knuggets.

Maresca has done a great job instilling some character and fight onto a squad of players that previously looked like they last met each other at a blind dinner experience.

Yes Sanchez continues to disappoint and we still concede soft goals but everyone sees that so it will be on Maresca's 'to do' list

And yes Jackson looks like a striker based on stats but a hat stand based on performance.

But compared to where we were last season, and where I thought we would be by now this season, it's been a great opening 4 months of the season.

We do need better back up defenders though.

The step down from fofana to Badiashile is huge, and to Tosin and Disasi too.

Agree. I’d go one step further, albeit a tad harsh as returning from injury and youth is a factor, but none of the CBs really fill me with confidence. They’re growing though - just expect a little more command from Levi and Wes as a starting pair

Missed a cracking game by the sound of it....

Will look forward to watching the replay and totalling up the damage. @justseemed to think mods retirement fund was quids in from another hopeless donkey performance.

Will watch and assess....unless @Valerieor @Simplymo want to do the honours?

But it's late now - I am pissed and hoarse from singing (post race concert was Muse tonight) - and I have a big day with a visitor tomorrow.... so night night. xoxo

Ideally Levi and Wes are the Alex and Cahill, learning off a JT and Ricky.

At 2-0 once we settled we were able to play passes through their midfield so easily. Lavia Enzo and Caicedo took a grip of the game and once we scored I was very confident of the win.

There was about 6 or 7 instances when we broke onto their last line but either didn’t play the pass early enough or the player with the ball lost all momentum.

We could have scored 8 today.

Glad you’re having a great time but I’m glad we didn’t have you “live” in the thread today. Jackso had possibly his worst game for us. Certainly this season.

It was a big game from Sancho and now we have some real options.  We have some really good attacking options. Pedro. Madueke. Palmer. Sancho. Jackson. . . .Nkunku. AND hopefully Mr. Felix can do something soon.

Sancho was outstanding and unfortunate not to add to his goal. Felix looked a bit lightweight when he came on and arguably could be faulted for poor marking leading to their 3rd goal. Can be difficult to come into such a big game late on though.

Badiashile worried me most of the game. I think Tosin would be a better option alongside Colwill.

Overall a fantastic game. Last year's win was memorable but I think this was a much better game over all.
