Still think it would have been a different game.  Might just be a 0-0 or the pressure without anything to hold on to could have give us a chance.   On top of the Pickford penalty could have given us an extra 3 points overall. Just pissed the referees compounding the misery in what have been below par performances .

1 point from these last 3 games has burst the "title challenge" balloon - we're a long way from that. will be interesting to see if Maresca can get us playing well again

I want to hear Maresca excuses after this.

Last season a  loss like this wouldn't have been painful but because of the way we played before the festive season the bar was raised high and this loss stings. Going to lower my expectations once again from this point on

Absolutely the thing I hate most about this crop of players. Just turn into a bunch of crybabies the moment things stop going their way.

Should have damn near wrapped up top 4 over the last few matches, instead threw it into doubt.

All the players have been almost equally shocking, except for the defense which managed to be even more shambolic.

We have been having poor ref decisions against us entire season from pool to Utd to Everton to today.. but we played sh*t.. we had 3CBs for both goals and none of them did anything.. pretty much garbage throughout..

Our defence is truly awful.

Only Colwill and Cucurella are decent, the rest is garbage.

Dont disagree but usually our sh*t performances around this time of the year have to do with injuries. Don't think we have that excuse this year with 90% of our squad fit.

Very little, if anything, positive to say about that.

 

Other than Tosin at right back which he paid a very heavy price for, I don't think Maresca got too much wrong with the line up given the last two performances.

 

What I didn't I understand later was why it was Felix hooked instead of Nkunku. Nkunku did nothing to prove he deserves more playing time but I thought Felix certainly did enough to suggest he can still contribute positively.

 

Equally Madueke failed miserably to prove a point after whatever happened to see him dropped. Fully expect him to be benched again and deservedly so.

 

And christ we need Lavia back to play alongside Caciedo. I'm still to be anywhere near convinced Enzo can cope with English football. We have had a number of poor captains in recent years and he might just be up there as the worst.
