Tempting as it be to for fans to vent their anger on Tuesday, I really hope the fans get behind the team - and don’t single players out either. A toxic atmosphere helps nobody and a draw or even defeat could just happen. Just hoping

There’s a small part of me that would be entertained by a loss here as that would have to force someone’s hand at the club to get rid of Maresca/Stewart/Winstanley and this god awful football vision they have.

What I meant was it’s crucial to win against the poorest team in the division firstly for getting back into Europe next season , then for the players to earn some much needed confidence back, for us the fans who’ve had enough already and whether they pretend by their silence all is well, the hapless owners, whose 3rd season if not careful is going the way of their first. Can we have the lions share of possession and the points tomorrow

That might have been me. I don’t disagree with what you say. I just saw saying this game was crucial without much explanation as if beating Soton would make everything ok again and put us in the top four driving seat, when I see it as a gimme that will have very little long term impact. I still think that, but I also think what you say is true.

I can see the planned protest falling flat when we beat Southampton 3 or 4-0. Probably not the ideal time for a protest before the only remaining game where we will almost certainly win. Protest in the street before and then a happy cheering crowd in the stadium watching Palmer look good again.

Tonight's fixture is the lifeline Southampton dearly need.
