Fulham vs Chelsea (PL) Sun 20th Apr 25 14:00 GMT

Regardless of the opinions on Maresca its pretty clear that our confidence was shot after such a poor run. away from home. Looking at the reaction from the players at the final whistle you could see what it meant to them to finally get an away win in the league this year. Perhaps the smash and grab win will prove to be a turning point, just like it felt like one when Fulham did the same at our place. we shall see...

Didn't his side win the match?'

This forum is unbearable. Sorry guys. But that is the sorry truth.

I didn’t know an awful lot about Maresca tbh before we appointed him. I did’nt think he was qualified for the Chelsea job. I’d heard the grumbles from the LCFC fans but thought ur champions how bad can it be, I’ll give him a fair go.

I’d have snatched ur hands off for the conference league and CL qualification. He may still achieve both…… but the football is turgid. I actually can’t stand it. This isn’t my opinion or bias it’s just my observation. It’s what I see right in front of my eyes.

It’s terrible to watch for the fans and terrible to play for the players and he has stated over and over again it’s his way or the highway way so I’m started a collection for petrol.

We won today inspight of maresca not because of him.

What do you want us to do Evissy? Fake it, lie, delude ourselves?

What about that win can you honestly put down to Maresca? That he subbed off the useless Jackson for George? Okay, but he's tried these desperate subs in most games since Christmas, and they haven't paid off.

Do you want us to praise his tactics throughout the match? How can you expect us to do that when his tactics failed again? Nothing he does works, and I'm not sorry for saying this, but grabbing two late goals off two wonder strikes doesn't change that. For 82 minutes of that match, we were poor.

This is it. Him or this young squad doesn't need tactical advise or boo's. He needs backing because this uncertainty hurts the players as well.

We have to realize where we are as a club and where the squad is. Dare I say most other clubs and their fans would take Boehly and his money plus all the staff plus Maresca to see them try with their respective clubs.

We are in a unique situation as a club where we had the best owner in the world hand over his club to the highest bidder. The new owner didn't want to do things like they were past 20 years which to me is a good basis if you want to create something new. In all honesty they have been here for a minute. They replaced everyone and went for youth for many reasons.

What we should do (in my opinion) is to give time and back the squad. You naturally don't have to if you don't want to but trying to get Maresca sacked is just an old reflex.

I would love us to be in a situation where Liverpool is. That is something we only can achieve if we have a clear plan of the squad development and stability with the manager. I think that is something we failed under Roman. Not many here can say otherwise as this forum and its history is full of conversations about that.

What Clearlake is doing is new and risky but I feel it progresses. It doesn't always have to show in the league table as the seasons vary so much.

I haven't said this yet here but I feel many fans were disappointed we actually didn't fight for the title this season although everyone including Maresca told we are far from that state as a squad.

Watched this live on the tv... James was struggling in mid field from the off... too slow... gifted them the goal

2nd half after they bought on Gusto and got rid of Noni we looked much better balanced.

They played well 2nd half and but couldn't get the goal - thankfully Pep jr. took off Jackson with 15 minutes to go and George did the business.

Wonderful goal from Neto, started by Palmer, assisted by Enzo... won it.

They worked hard and got what they deserved - no thanks to the Manager and his stupid system that half of the lads struggle to fit in to and/or seem to understand.

It's come to something when beating Fulham is regarded as a " huge win" for Chelsea.

Don't want to sound disrespectful but this is exactly something we need to distance ourselves from. Arrogance and delusion.

First of all the league is toughest as it has ever been and second of all we are building a squad to compete. It is far from being consistent enough to win week in week out.

Look at Fulham squad and their coach. They have played in the Prem for years. In a single game they can outsmart and outplay us with the lack of experience we have in the players and the coach. Today it was about persistence and really meant the world to the players to take the win. These are big moments to the players. Don't just brush them off because Drogba and Lampard cruised on every level of them game. Different squad and era.

You're not disrespectful Evissy. . I know things are different these days , I just feel they should never have got this bad almost as soon as we got a new ownership. .

Anyway, good win today, have a good Easter, cheers.

A bit generous, should be a 2..

I would agree that 3 is generous. However if it wasn't for his assist (which wasn't a particularly great ball, Neto's impressive control turned it into an assist' I'd say Enzo was probably even worse than Jackson. Between the two of them it was two of the worst sll rkund performances you will ever see from a player playing for a top half club. Ok no glaring errors costing a goal or sitters missed but a total inability to contribute anything of any merit. The game happened around Enzo rather than with him.

See first half of season... we were winning week in and out or consistently. It's only you who bring in our previous owners to the debate. This was a team competing with Liverpool at the top of the table. You talk of reflex sacking a manager... Our new owners are worse at hiring and firing than Roman was, Maresca is the fifth manager in three years, only watford or Leeds have probably appointed more managers in this time.

Big win against a side who are worse than us in the division. The league table doesnt lie this time of the year. If you want top four or titles these are the games we needed to be winning all season. Anyhow. Can see you been drinking from the kool aid fountain so leave you to the high...

With respect evissy, what is it progressing from?

Champions League winners, Club World Cup winners, a string of Premierships and domestic cups, a consistent front-of-shirt sponsor with the big companies, elite managers, leaders and top players on the pitch, no ticket touts on the board.... the list can go on.

The clowns have already spent a bit short in a few windows than Roman did in nearly 20 years!

It all isn't progress!

Just stop repeating the tired old discredited propaganda Evissy.

Info

Had a family day out at the coast today. Before, that would have always meant me checking my phone or getting the commentary on the radio but Maresca has stopped all that. Am so disinterested in Maresca-Chelsea that I just checked the score at H-T. My heart still slumped when I saw we were losing (although was expecting it). Was totally gobsmacked when I saw we had gone 2-1 up and to be honest, would rather have suffered another defeat, if it meant an end to Maresca.

But always good to win a London derby and get revenge after the defeat at The Bridge, so well done Blues, although I hear that Jackson had yet another shocker, so hopefully he and Maresca can both be elsewhere next season.

YOU are the one who incessantly references the past in every response to criticism of the the current ownership. And then you tell us what you believe the future is going to hold for the club.

Maybe you should address the situation as it actually is at the club right now ??

Quite the contrary we are unfortunately living and watching these turgid games of football in the very moment and then coming on here and posting in the moment very mindfully …. Unless of course you know how to post on here from the past ?

I see Jackson somehow managed to get 3/10 in the player ratings. Think that’s a bit generous. Don’t think he controlled a single ball, never mind have an effort on goal. Do you get 3 just for stumbling aimlessly around the pitch?

2 things can be true at once, I want Maresca gone but I also want to win the conference and CL football. I love the club and don’t want to see them fail because of a twat like Enzo.

It’s a bit like the ex wife, my hatred of her is nothing compared to the love of my kids so I don’t want her to starve just f**k off and eat somewhere else.

You compare Blueco era to Roman era which is not smart seeing what they did after hiring the sporting directors.

Why would you expect us to be where we were when we changed the entire team with young lads? Madness.

You can shout This is Chelsea Football Club all you want but the Roman club was different to this one.
