Quenda to replace Estevao when he reaches the grand age of 22.

Were footballs equivalent of Logans Run....only younger.

whatever. I support Chelsea. I support Chelsea players. Gittens came on and had a decent game - a decent 15 mins or so and had a shot on target. Chelsea had 6 shots on target during the game. If you don't understand that - I am not trying to 'sell' Gittens to you - or any other Chelsea player for that matter. A lot of people around here need to have a little more patience that is all i am saying.

the way you talk about Chelsea players - Are you sure you're not a spurs fan? lol.

You know you can not rate a player we have and be honest about it while at the same time hoping you're wrong, right?

Of course I would want Gittens to be good, doesn't mean I'm praying for his downfall. But I'm not going to delude myself and say he looks like an amazing prospect who just needs more time while clapping every time he does the simplest things.

Absolutely idiotic logic, did you keep saying Bakayoko was great and has time despite all the sh*te performances he put in? Or were you a Spurs fan and said he was rubbish after that infamous Watford performance? If we go by that logic then one look in the Jackson thread and @nonotnowjim is the biggest Spurs supporter around.

The uncomfortable truth about "writing players off" is that most of the time, it ends up being correct.

Gittens has had a poor start and has obvious areas that need improvement. At another club, with a proper coach and proper footballing mentors that could provide guidance and experience, he might be able to be a better player. He will not get that at Chelsea.

Gittens is a very normal prospect. The same with Jackson, Madueke, mudyrk, even Palmer.

It is just we don't usually see this type player playing for any of the top team.

One look at that thread tells us more about the mentally ill posting on football message boards than it does about Nico Jackson.

Oh - so someone whose opinion you agree with (Jackson is the bees knees) is fine to make that point over and over and over again.

….but if another person counters this with something you don’t agree with (Jackson is a useless donkey) - then they are mentally ill?

I think if someone repeatedly or even obsessively says negative things with harsh/ unusual words and descriptions they could be described in days gone by as a bit of nutter, but i note on the news recently its not appropriate to call someone a nutter anymore. Just an observation but we appear to have our fair share of nutters on this forum, not utter nutters but perhaps many in the bit of a nutter category. 😂

On footballing matters im thinking we saw a glimpse of a player v Liverpool at the weekend fingers crossed we see more.

These type of players play for top clubs all the time. I could probably name 5 in every top team.

The difference is they're surrounded by quality and experience, we're missing that at Chelsea.

Just Give me 5 that play for City, Arsenal and pool (you have to exclude academy player otherwise this conversation is stupid)

Making this type of signing?

City - Savinho (20y/o with 1 good season in Spain), Khusanov (20y/o with 30 games in France), Nico Gonzalez (21y/o with a couple of seasons in Portugal), Doku (22y/o with no elite seasons under his belt), Vitor Reis (19y/o from Brazil)

Liverpool - They haven't really signed much in the last few windows but Giovanni Leoni (18y/o with 30 appearances), Gravenberch (21y/o was considered a flopped prodigy when they signed him)

Arsenal - Mosquera (21y/o. played 80 games, les than Madueke when we signed him), Calafiori (21 y/o, one season in Switzerland, one season in Italy), Timber (22y/o, similar amount of games as Madueke in Dutch league), Fabio Veira (22 y/o with one full season at Porto), Kiwior (21 y/o 2 seasons as rotation in Italy)

Let me know if you want any more names sending over. All of these players have genuine world class players to learn from and play with, we don't have that.

This really is a total mish*t. Not only him being an averagy player: He was just jogging around the pitch with no fighting spirit in yeasterday's Forest game.

Stewart & Winstanley will have some explaining to do regarding the Gittens Project at £50+ million fairly soon.

Not true, he did get stuck in, made one very vital tackle in our box and ran the ball at ever opportunity. I dont think his effort can ne questioned. His quality on the other hand, he just doesn't do anything when he does have the ball.

Sums it up. He put in an effort unlike Garnacho who just shirked the physical stuff.

I’ll be honest, I was shocked when he got MOTM.

That certainly was surprising. A refreshing approach to giving him a boost, although I hadn't figured UEFA was this tenderly concerned with players.

Jamie Gittens is the youngest Chelsea player on record (since 2003/04) to create five or more chances in a Champions League match (21 years and 75 days), a record previously held by Eden Hazard, having also provided an assist. Not a bad performance by Gittens against Ajax.

Kind of bending stats though isn't it. The only times we have competed in the CL until this year we have been in Groups (normally seeded) with at most one fodder level team included before getting through to progressively harder knockout stages.

We are now in a 36 team table where the bottom 8 get bombed automatically, all of which are fodder teams, along with a fair number of the middle group of teams as well.

But it is a positive statistic, so there is that.

EDIT: I am not casting aspersions on Gittens by the way. I don't get how he got MOTM the other night but there were three really tasty crosses that, if this manager did any really progressive pattern, could easily have resulted in quality goals for us
