He’s slowly settling into the squad. Feels like there is more to come, and he’ll have to continue to improve to have a chance of holding down a spot. But is improving. Big run of games coming and should see plenty of minutes.

If he’s going to be too much of a pussy to take 35 year old fullbacks on, having those in-swinging curlers to the far post should be an element to his game.

Probably one of the most underwhelming singings.

Just looks like a decent cobham player. Very raw, no real outstanding attrubutes.

Garnacho is poor, but honestly looks the more rounded player.

Gittens, Garnacho, and Mudryk, for a combined £145m.

The mind boggles.

Chiesa probably had a bigger impact, and he cost £10m and didnt play enough games to get a winners medal last season.

Left wing, Centre back, and Striker have been massive failures for these sporting directors.

Its already started with the pr about us turning down bids at the end of the last window.

We get rid of players just as they mature and replace them with more raw unproven signings, that cant handle games eveery 3 days.

We need some top quality players that are close to entering peak levels.

If this were a proper club i would be excited about seeing them nurture Derry through the ranks in order to work his way into that position over time. This place, they will sell Derry to take pure profit and buy some weaker LW from a foreign league, gaslight him as being the next wonderkid and we will end up with Gittens 2.0

The worrying thing is that Jesse Derry, at this stage, already looks a more complete player than Gittens.

Honestly if we’d paid a massive fee for Derry from Hamburg or Schalke he’d 100% be seeing PL minutes this season. The only reason Gittens gets those opportunities is the bloated transfer fee.

The SD’s are that high off their own farts they’ll refuse to accept what’s best for the squad and only push for ‘their’ signings and exceptional football talent scouting to be given the opportunity.

I have seen glimpses of something that says it's too early to write him off and after all he is only 21. BUT as 21, you should still have a bit more about you. Never seen a player look so timid that even lower league defenders can brush him off with relative ease. Maybe at this stage it is better to introduce him from the bench for 20 minutes against tired legs as when he starts a game, you know he will be one of the first ones hooked.

For him to make it here, he needs to be given a ridiculous amount of minutes to get the on pitch experience which he is lacking. I keep hearing comparisons with Salah while he was here, but Salah left for Roma where he racked up 5100+ league minutes in 2 seasons which is an average of 28 full league games per season. Gittens currently has 430 league minutes, I just don’t see him racking up over 1500 league mins at the end of the season.

Dortmund was were he should have gotten those mins, or at a lower, mid table PL team. He just isn’t going to get those mins at a top 4 team, and same applies to Garnacho. It’s crazy paying £55m for a player that isn’t ready, or marginally better than Tyrique George.

Gittens wouldnt be a guaranteed starter on merit at Strasbourg. There are several players currently better than him- Enciso, Moriera, Lemarechal, Ameyaw, Nanasi, Godo and Paez.

Not sure where else he is sent, a championship team or back to Germany for a 51 million pound signing. Ridiculous!

This is a mistake, an expensive one at that and its on the sporting directors. These two clowns will have to account for this somewhere along the line.

His calibre is one thing but whats worse is his effort/ application. He needs a bonfire lighting under his arse.

The problem if you sign him 3 years from now and assuming he has developed into a pretty good winger, you need to pay 70m and more importantly he will demand double or triple his current salary.

He is absolutely atrocious. Rivals Koulibaly for the worst signing of the BlueCo era just without the Saudis to bail us out of this one.

He’s fast, so was Mudryk, so was Usain Bolt. Speed alone doesn’t make you a good player. This isn’t the NFL where you can be a one trick pony and succeed.

He’s shown absolutely nothing to warrant being a 5M pound player let alone 50M!

Shouldn’t see the field for the rest of the season ahead of any of Garnacho, Estevao or Derry.

Even a Championship loan looks too much for him at this stage.

Fair point but you look at those teams; 2 giants Wolves, Burnley, Leeds and 1 in the CL against an awful A**x team. Personally think both he and Garnacho are a waste of money. 1 goal and 4 assists in the PL between the two, 15 games into the season is a poor return.

We probably don't want to look too closely at who ALL our players get the bulk of their goals and assists against. Gittens is far from alone in this.

When you compare him to Semenyo, they're light years apart.

How much do you think Semenyo will go for? Gittens was just shy of £50m, so Semenyo surely will need to be £100m, or is his contract running out?
