Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea (PL) Sun 25th May 16:00 GMT

For goodness sake. This game needs to hurry up already. All we need is a game where our players play to their potential and we win. Maresca has to get a tune out of this lot. Forest aren't great, so as long as we make no mistakes (giving away a pen, red cards or passing out from the back), we should be capable of winning.

A "make or break" game for both sides. Tense atmosphere guaranteed. A rabid home crowd and......... Antony Taylor.

I think we all know how this will probably go down.

Forrest have been limping towards the finish for a few months but a huge game to end the season might galvanise them.

They’re nothing special but lessons will need to be learned from the first half against Newcastle. Game was essentially over at half time, not sure if it was the tactics employed or the atmosphere or a combo of both.

Yeah.

Even if miraculously, we’re winning 1-0 and its 90 minutes.

May have been said already in this thread but if we go behind in this game we are toast. Would be hard enough getting a draw off them from there, nevermind a win.

Also this game will be just like Newcastle was. Their fans will make it a big occasion just as the geordies did, so those opening 20 minutes may not win us the game bit we certainly could lose it there.

I think that we have to be level at the break.

If we are leading, we will try to protect it and we're sh*t. If they are winning they will protect it and we're sh*t at breaking them down.

If we are level at the break they have no option but to come after us. They have to win. A draw doesn't work for them. In reality it doesn't work for us but mathematically it can, so i think that we would win a game of chicken with them. They would have to come out and become more attacking and open as the game wears on. Then we need to be able to counter, at speed, without over thinking (something Maresca spends hours and hours coaching into the squad!) or playing in a risk averse manner as normal.

He's actually been pretty good to us in recent times, so we'll see if that continues when it really matters.

This is a bigger game than the Conference League final against Betis.

If we lose this and miss out on UCL qualification and win the tinpot Conference League what do we even gain? And I don't feel confident against Forest as against Betis.

Big, big game we can't bottle this!

United losing is a good thing going into this game. Amorim will defo now field a 'strong' team to put some pride on an awful season. For instance the odds on Brighton winning have dropped hugely because the bookies no Spurs will be in party mode. United have to get back to drawing board. I don't remember a situation like this happening for a long while. The time we beat Liverpool 2-1 and qualified for the UCL with Gronkjaer is one that comes to mind. Either way really nervous. Forest are very hard to beat at their own ground. All of Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Villa have struggled to beat them. Newcastle are the only team around the UCL places who managed to beat them at their ground.

Can see nothing but a Forest win here, they’re set up to exploit all our weaknesses and we don’t have a Plan B to combat it.

CHO & Elanga will have absolute field days with our full backs inverting giving them acres to exploit on the quick counters Forest have been so good at all season. Chris Wood will absolutely BULLY whoever we put at CB as well.

We’ve got a weak minded excuse ridden coach with no plan b and a team of children with no experience for big games, just look how easily we folded against Newcastle, expect the same here.

Only one of them plays.

I think we should be winning this if we are serious about competing for anything meaningful in the next couple seasons. This is the time for the boys to become men, and for the likes of Palmer to step up and take the game by the scruff of the neck. Stop the doubters from calling him a hype job who can't do it when it matters most.

CHO has been injured so Dominguez has been filling in. They're both fit now, likelihood is they both start like their early season form.

To be honest, we needed to pick up more points during the easier run of fixtures we had around xmas/new years time. Not picking up points then has led us to needing a win against Forest, which is a sh*t situation to be in.

It's literally just the games against Ipswich. Win those and Champions League qualification would already been done. Even one win could have been enough. Win the away game, and Champions League qualification would be done. Win the home game, and all we would need is a draw against Forest.

Felt more confident when JT got sent off at Barca, and when Muller scored in minute 83, than I do about this. This is against all odds times a billion in terms of the feeling, because not one bone in my body thinks we can win.

This would genuinely be mind blowing. With everything we know about this team, manager, and the circumstances of away record and pressure.
