It's only a matter of time before the EPL will be playing rounds in the US and I promise our owners will be leading the charge. This is their actual plan to make money out of the club, by increasing the total commercial value of the league even if it is at the expense of the integrity of the football. If they are able to influence the league to make changes they will massively profit all while never needing to lift a finger or spend a cent on Chelsea.

The whole "takeover" is around tv rights, im almost certain. They will soon attempt to change it to each club selling their own Tv rights, thats where the big money is.

I agree that the big money is in the tv rights, but knowing the commercial shrewdness of our lot, they wouldn't probably manage to negotiate a deal (tongue in cheek).

However, the money received for playing abroad is not meaningless. The money Barcelona and Villarreal were set to receive was reported to be around 6m€ each, the same amount of money that Real Madrid and Barca receive for playing the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia (with Athletic Bilbao receiving ~2m€). I'd expect teams like Chelsea, City or Utd would receive similar amounts, or maybe higher given the following of the PL in the US, so a couple of games away at USA/Saudi and it becomes some business.

Probably time for another one of these no?

Maybe that’s why they are in no rush to build a stadium, if the prem goes on tour we won’t need one.

What happened to our fans? Surely the fire hasn't gone out of them so quickly. It was only a few years ago that they marched towards the bridge to stop the Super League. It's starting to make me wonder if it was all performative.

Nationality. BlueCo being American means that American overseas fans have zealously defended the ownership and many local fans have bought it hook, line and sinker. Liverpool had the same issue with Hicks & Gillett. Even the vast majority of Manchester United fans were fine with Glazer during the Ferguson years and didn't care until 2013 onwards.

But I think it's also exhaustion. There are bigger things in the world to be worried about right now and frankly, if I was a season-ticket holder, I would be counting down the days until the club got relegated to a lower league so that matchday would be meaningful once again.

I hope they do! It may be the only way to make the owners think about rebuilding the stadium, which was one part of the contract, if I remember correctly.

If only we could have a dozen fans in a room with Eghbali, the SDs and LR to discuss the current state of this club. I would love to ask them to explain themselves on why they blew so much money on crap and why we persist playing out the back with a Gk who costs us more than he saves us. This club should be called accountability fc

Yes, all very sad to see us not winning everything still, but the fortunes of a professional football club are pretty much irrelevant compared to all the things that can, will or do have an impact on my family. I wish my life was so straightforward and stress free that getting riled about BlueCo was worth my time and energy.

The US and Israel have chucked a lot of bombs/money at Iran for three weeks, but the regime is still there and not exactly giving up. Not sure a few blokes walking down the Fulham Road one afternoon is going to make an international investment firm (or whatever they are) say sorry, walk away and hand everything over to a multi billionaire that will freely spend billions on winning football matches.

The only thing that might trouble them is if everybody stopped buying tickets until they go. But there's more chance of Hell freezing over than someone not renewing their season ticket. And I'm sure someone else would immediately buy it anyway.

All true, and as someone who started following from afar in ‘88 I’m well used to us not winning. Personally, this is about much more than that. Our owners are arrogant, ignorant, lack accountability and seem to view match going fans as a nuisance. Our club will be in a MUCH worse place when they leave than when they took over, and we only really have two choices: do nothing, or do something. Whatever else going on in the world doesn’t really influence that, and I for one hope the fans choose to do something rather than let Clearlake destroy the club without a fight.

Agree, they are not exclusive things. I can be annoyed at the injustices going on in the world at the moment, join demonstrations against the war, genocide etc, while at the same time being worried about the future of Chelsea and joining the protests. It is disingenuous, to say the least, this idea that football fans are not interested in what is going on around them other than football.

Won't bother the owners is the slightest. Probably give them an excuse to ban a few season ticket holders and offer a few more expensive day seats to day trippers.

If we stopped caring about certain things because something of greater importance was happening in the world, we would never find solutions to anything. We're powerless to stop global issues, so we focus on the things we can do.

With Roman's connections to Putin heavily scrutinized I doubt there was any real chance of impacting anything at the time. Having said that, with the recent deterioration of relations between UK and US, perhaps they will be forcing another resale before long lol
