But I can see you're unaffected. The man is a legend for Chelsea but if he did wrong like the eva's case then apology is the basic proper thing to do.

The only thing that changed was the speed at which he would undermine his own authority. As much as I loved the way that Mourinho stood for the club and the team against media darlings like Benitez, Wenger and Barcelona, his infamous 'siege mentality' and conspiracist mindset was always just a cheap ruse. When it worked it was lauded as genius, and when it didn't work, it provided a convenient excuse to blame someone else for his failings. The truth is by 2007 he was a magician who had revealed all his tricks. In specific circumstances it is a powerful trick, but that's all. There's nothing sustainable or replicable about it. Now he just burns through the goodwill faster than the results arrive. The siege mentality was quite often counterproductive.By inferring that referees were biased against us, more often than not, rather than being cowed into cooperation they would do the opppsite.Completely self defeating.

He even played down the slur term he used to call her by saying he treats man and woman as equal blah. There is actually no justification of his behavior in that incident. Then came you: Your refusal to take stance and condemning his obvious mistake in that incident is the basis why I call you what you are. If you feel wronged then maybe you can explain on why you can think it's okay to NOT have an opinion on the obvious bully-act of conduct by mou in that eva's incident? For what its worth, jose mourinho was 1 of the reasons why I become Chelsea fan so I'm familiar with that nostalgia 'feeling' that you're experiencing. Maybe I'll have a watch over the weekend but it's not necessary to watch it because most of the good things happened during Chelsea time where we've been through it together.

August 20Aug 20 I have started watching but have been too busy to watch all of it yet. It's all been said before, but of course Jose is still held in high esteem with us supporters and when you watch old clips, you can't help but remember how great it was as the memories flood back. But there is no doubt, over the years, he has tarnished his legacy. He should be up there with the likes of Shankly, Clough and Ferguson (and now Pep), for having supporters unadulterated affection, but as much as I still remember him fondly, now I view him as just another ex-manager (and ex-manager of MANY clubs, including Spurs) and therefore not worthy of a statue.

August 20Aug 20 I'm two episodes in and I quite like it, but it really is just a love-letter to Jose so far. I guess this is because it's covering the period where his star was on the rise and he could seemingly do no wrong. It was interesting to learn about his origin story in episode 1, I knew very little about him prior to his Porto days.It is a nice excuse to sit down and revisit those memories though. With Jose, Roman and that core of brilliant players and leaders we had at the time, it was the perfect storm and we're lucky to have experienced it. How things have changed.

Plus Fergie time etc. Accepted notion was, you had to be a bit of a crafty bastard, to prevail in the Premiership. Then comes cutie pie Ranieri winning the league with Leicester. No mind games and macho trappings.

It's not like it's going to be the opposite of what has been reported (in which the report was presented in jose's own quote from the show). That particular incident is not a matter of having different opinion, it's a fact of someone misbehaving, act of bully and unremorseful. Don't you realize you are kind of low key defending mou of his wrongdoing? You sound like denzel washington on will smith slap case, the different is you haven't brought out the devil in play as excuse.Btw, I notice someone call you a bellend (puta??) and this time I'll (conveniently) distance myself from saying whether that's right or wrong especially on a community forum like this one but do you think he should apologize? I don't think he should if that's how he truly feels about it because after all, it's his personal feeling that matters. An apology would have been fake anyway.

As an edgy teenager, I used to go back and forth with some of his devoted disciples on the old forum over his style of football. I hated the way he treated Robben, Joe Cole, Wright-Phillips, Parker and Glen Johnson. I hated the Death of Football midfield. I hated that he thought Mikel was our answer to Fabregas. Most of all I hated that he became a caricature of his earlier 'siege mentality'. It was always everyone else's fault and never his, and he couldn't bear the attention being on anyone else. Hence my comments above - he was gone far before Real Madrid.
August 21Aug 21 I love Jose, can’t ever be understated the effects he had on this club, absolutely gutted he never lifted the big one with us. Will probably be the greatest football regret of most our lifetimes. No stretch at all to say that Roman/Jose link up saved English football at the time and shaped what it became. Without them we’d have the reanimated corpse of Alex Ferguson leading Utd to their 69th League Title in a row. However, the Eva situation wasn’t even worth bringing up in a series about his career, it’s such a minor blip that raising it again just reeks of arrogance and petulance. Secondly the above is right, Madrid absolutely broke him, all the magic and charm left and he became a bitter husk of a man. His second spell here was nowhere near the charmfest of the first and everything since just makes me cringe for him.

August 21Aug 21 Bluenut was his biggest fan. I used to like Jose's attention seeking being excused as 'taking the pressure off the players"Like when he gave his medal away to take the pressure off the players celebrating their win.

If José believed that Hazard wasn't really injured but stayed down anyway which then led to the medic being called, then his anger was and still is ridiculously misplaced Apart from that incident what a f**king great manager he was for us 👍
August 21Aug 21 I love José, but I never bought the idea that his antics were a cleverly designed tactic to take pressure off the players. If players were sh*t, they were still sh*t, no matter what. I think José just couldn't control himself.
August 21Aug 21 We need more Mourinho's in the game. He's full of himself, has a massive ego, he will make you love him and hate him at times, and he will cross the line, but he's entertaining. Football doesn't have many characters anymore. Every manager these days is giving each other a hug and giving boring monotone interviews to the press. I would love nothing more than for Liverpool fans to give Alonso stick all game only for us to score a last minute winner and for him to run down the touchline celebrating in front of them Mourinho style.
August 21Aug 21 5 minutes ago, Scott Harris said:We need more Mourinho's in the game. Agreed. I think we are in a minority who feel that way, but characters like him are just great for football. You look at what a lot of us consider "peak" football, and it's that 2004-2012 era. Mourinho was at the heart of it. Running across Old Trafford when Porto knocked out United, his entire Chelsea stint, forcing the sprinklers at the Nou Camp with Inter, and let's forget the Clásicos. They were blockbusters during that period. In contrast, Pep vs Klopp's mutual respect for one another was just gag-worthy. No edge, no animosity, no narrative heat.

Probably for the best, had we got to the final Madrid would have been too much for that squad at the time.

Just so many examples of acting / talking sh*t.In terms of upper echelon managers, him and Clough are the most obvious examples of egotists. Both achieved huge success; bit of magic about them. You had to accept the full package. Tolerable with Jose when he was a world beater, now he comes across as a bit of a jerk.
