Aidan Magee is going over in periscope session his views on transfers. He says Marcos Alonso will happen but a big deal like James is too late to be finalized. This is on sky.

We need defensive cover, it would bite us far more if Dave got injured and we had no left back in the squad. Don't know enough about the lad to judge him, but I knew nothing about Dave before he joined and he's now probably the best one on one defender in the league. 

There is a story going on Hart would go on loan to Torino. Have to say he doesn't deserve what has happened to him. Quality stopper.

I love Dave, proper quality underrated full back. Does his job diligently and with no fuss. If he played for United he would be rammed down our throat in the press ALLLLLLLL THE TIME.

I think if this happens our board have screwed it up. Brozovic looks pretty good, but will he get a game ahead of Oscar, de Vrij, all i know about him is that he has injury troubles, would it not have been worth bringing Christensen back rather than spend money on this guy, and Alonso will get a game, but is he that much of an upgrade on Rahman, personally with LB we should still have Luis or Bertrand, what a shambles.

You have to look back at our transfer dealings and hold your head in your hands. Bertand, Luis, De Bruyne, Lukaku, Mata, David Luiz (i know we got good money, but would you have him back for what we sold him for, i know i would!), Bertrand Traore going out on loan, the list goes on! Well at least this Zouma rumour is looking like a load of rubbish, every cloud hey!

 

I know this is a neggy post, but massively frustrated. The right players are available, but the board would rather go for the budget option that will just sit on the bench. James Rodriguez is available and would improve our team, Ricardo Rodriguez is available and will improve our team, likewise with Koulibaly, yet we will spend half the money on players that will just sit on our bench and lose value. Then loan out players that could do as good of a job as the players we are about to buy, i see no logic!! I hope Conte is the man behind these players transfers, because maybe at least i may proven wrong, but if this is more Emanalo's work i fear we will have more salah's, cuadrado's and Rahman's on our hands.

I am not all that pessimistic . The 2  biggest weakness i see in our defense are: Terry @ CB as his age and lack of pace are concerning. , Ivanovic @ RB for similar reasons. Once Zouma is back and we can move Ivanovic to CB position, then we have a full list of 4 healthy CBs. Ola Aina can play either flank and I think while he may not be a step up now, if we give him enough playing time, he may develop into a starter for us. Ditto for  So in reality we only need a RB or an LB. 

Also, Next year with Andreas coming back - we will have another competent CB. Also Ake would have gathered enough experience to be a squad player hopefully. If we are going to spend crazy money, let me be crazy money for a crazy good player.

I honestly think conte can improve our defenders, especially ivanovic. I reckon conte can improve him as a cb anyway. I would like to see azpi at rb again.

I think thats the long term plan. Not for this year though, without CL I think we have enough defenders as far as quantity goes, just not the quality.

Remy's gone on loan to Palace. So we're left with two strikers. Seems very odd, with a day-and-a-half left in the transfer window.

Yeah I'd imagine it will just be Alonso and the Croatian midfielder.

Not ideal really after what was a really good start to our business this summer.

lol we keep getting rid of people and bringing in no one.  

 

Don't forget though that RLC is not a forward, and I'm sure hazard can play there as well.  Hell, Oscar played there for a couple games in 2014-2015.  I believe that concussion from Ospina was one of those games...may be misremembering though. 

Blimey at this rate we'll have saved enough salary money to afford Ivanovich's vet's bills...
