September 2, 201312 yr Van ginkel, eto'o, and Willian are not upgrades at all, Lukaku has yet to get any real playing time, Schurrle and KDB are good options but are they upgrades from who we started last year? Our first team, without mourinho managing it, outperformed the current champions in every head to head match Edited September 2, 201312 yr by Lane

September 2, 201312 yr Good to have concluded business before the deadline, sit back and watch the ensuing mayhem approach with glee.. This is Chelsea you're talking about. With Mourinho in charge. We're going to do something ridiculous.

September 2, 201312 yr That is something I could envisage.. Urgh...hope not. Would hate to trade Branna for Dracula. Still think Real are going to poach Suarez at the 11th hour.

Van Ginkel isn't an upgrade on nothing? Willian isn't an upgrade on Moses? God, you really are an idiot.
September 2, 201312 yr Van Ginkel isn't an upgrade on nothing? Willian isn't an upgrade on Moses? God, you really are an idiot. How can you call someone an idiot for having an opposing opinion about our transfers, when one of the players you mentioned hasn't even played a game for us yet? I'll be quite happy if Willian manages to score 10 goals, like Moses did last year with fairly limited playing time - but the suitability of the transfer will take a while to determine. Edit: That said, I'm not going to write him off as not being an upgrade yet, like BrewCrew is - I do value a player who has experience playing in the league quite a bit, and worry that it might be an expensive mistake if Willian doesn't settle into the Premier League well. Based on that comment and the thread he made ripping apart our team/manager half hour after we almost beat the best team in the world I feel I'm in my right to call him an idiot. Also, just because Willian hasn't played for us yet doesn't mean we couldn't tell he's a better player, if Lewandowski came in to replace Ba could I not say it was an upgrade because Lewa hasn't played a game for us yet?
September 2, 201312 yr So at the end of the day where does this leave young Josh? Cleaning boots or are the club trying to find him a loan deal somewhere?

Didn't see the other thread you're mentioning - however just ignore him is you think he's talking that much rubbish. With regards to Lewandowski being better than Ba, it would obviously be a safer claim than Willian being better than Moses, as I'm sure most will place his european and domestic exploits as vastly superior to Ba's, where the same cannot be said for Moses vs Willian who are relatively similar in that regard - however we do often see players not being able to adapt to the league quickly, and for every Oscar and Mata there is a Kezman or Veron. I'm admittedly quite a fan of Moses, and think that players of his ilk are important for Championship winning teams - and I'm not sure out of the more superstar style creative midfielders who is going to be as quiet about being on the bench for 3 games out of 5. Hopefully Willian turns out to be perfectly suited to the league, but it will continue to be a risk that didn't need to be taken for me when Moses is a perfectly serviceable backup attacking midfielder, and Willian will probably struggle to get a regular first team spot in the first month or so.
September 2, 201312 yr Van Ginkel isn't an upgrade on nothing? Willian isn't an upgrade on Moses? God, you really are an idiot. I don't know why so many people are so high on Van Ginkel? And no he is not an upgrade over Mikel or Essien? And no, I don't see Willian as an upgrade over Moses. I have seen Willian play a ton and he is extremely overrated. He can produced the occasional play but he is lazy, especially when he was in Russia. Talk about big fish in a small pond. Moses always worked his ass off for the team.
September 2, 201312 yr We have a very strong first 11. We didn't need an upgrade on any of them. We needed depth, we got depth. Whats the problem?

Maybe the odd champions league game (if im wrong il hold my hand up). I actually agree with your sentiment some times but it hard to get on board with your opinions because they are all full of over the top negativity. yes we haven't bought any ready made world class players that will walk straight into the starting 11, but we have a better manager, and stronger squad that will enable us to get the best out of our key players.

I have been to st. Petersburg and Moscow plenty of times so I have seen my fair share of Willian and Eto'o. They both played very lazy last year and the quality wasn't there. Maybe the move to an actual competitive league and Jose's motivation will help but I am just going off of the last couple years.

I think we have enough in our locker to win the league, however I think the champions league will be beyond us this year.
September 4, 201312 yr Rumours around that RvP is a bit unhappy at United, he misses Fergie and doesnt really like Moyes and his training methods. You are welcome in January lad.

Ferguson pulled a bit of a bait and switch on him. Not surprised he's pissed. I thought he looked frustrated against us and Liverpool with the distinct lack of service.

There must have been a huge sense of loyalty in that United squad towards SAF. Even if they are open to Moyes ideas etc it must be a huge culture shock for a lot of those players. 4 points from a possible 9 probably hasn't done much to help those that had doubts over his appointment. They've got Palace, West Brom and City next in the league, you would say anything less than 7 points from those games (draw against City minimum) and they United fans and players might really start doubting the appointment.

Willian is loved by Shaktar fans and why? because hes a very good player.Willian was wanted by 4 English clubs who were all seemed to be willing to pay over £20M for him so he cant be that bad. Rene Meulensteen who recently worked with him at Anzi spoke very highly of him and advised Man Utd to go for him when he became available. He was also one of the stand out players in the CL group stages last season, his performances against us twice were impressive but even more so was his performance against Juve away who are not an easy team to look good against.Willian workrate against us i thought was impressive, and he will have to do that here otherwise he wont get a game. Dont see how you can be so negative of the signing.
September 4, 201312 yr It ain't just this signing he's negative about, if I was as pissed as him about basically everything about Chelsea I would pack in watching.

September 27, 201312 yr There are rumours we are interested in Oliver Torres from Atletico. Would be a great acquisition.
