Don't think he does single him out tbh. It's just that every damn interviewer is as obsessed with torres as 99% of people on here and keep asking him how torres played.

Do you expect them not to ask about Torres? Unless he drastically improves his perfomances on a consistent basis (which clearly now is never going to happen) or stops playing for the club then the media are going to keep talking about him. We signed him for fifty million pounds therefore he is the center of attention whether we like it or not.

To be fair whilst his performance was still below par he seemed to give 100% .

The burst of speed before the heavy touch was the first time i can remember him doing such a thing in our colours. I applauded him when he came off and would give him a 6.5 match rating.

It stinks of lazy journalism if your asking me! How about earning your money and asking some proper questions instead of the usual " How did you think torres played today". I mean wtf do they expect him to say?

I'd rather Torres earned his money to be honest.

The scariest thing about today was Roman clapping Torres off the pitch. It is possible that he knows so little as to thing that Torres made a contribution.

Of all the mis-placed passes he done, the failure to hold the ball up, the failure to pose a serious threat to opposing defenders, and the strikers instinct of a non league player, this post hits the nail right on the head.

Roman clapping him off the pitch was for me the single worst moment of the whole day.

I think you are all being too harsh on him, after having his barnet trimmed like that it must have been very challenging for him to stand up and be counted

in a vital London derby such as todays

Roman has to be on drugs .....right ????

Loved Nando's new badass haircut, made him look like an extra from Stanley Kubrick's movie 'Full Metal Jacket'.

Maybe he could learn something from that film?.

The Strikers Creed.

"This is my ability, there are many like it,but this abilty is mine.

My abilty is my best friend. It is my life.I must master it as I must master my life on the pitch.

My ability, without me, is useless, without my ability I am useless.

I must try my best always.I must shoot at goal straighter than my opponents, who are trying to beat CFC.

I must score a goal before he scores a goal against us.

My ability and myself know what counts in any match. It is not the useless runs I make, the crap positions I take on the pitch or how many times I fall over.I know it's the goals I score that count...............

Before God,I swear this creed.

My ability & myself are defenders of my club,we are the masters of CFC's opponents. We are the saviours or Roman Abramovich.

So be it,until victory is Chelsea's and until there is no enemy but the Premier League title!".

Or maybe he's just sh*t.

I don't hate the guy, I'm not going too boo him either.

Even though he's on 175k a week, I still feel sorry for the guy. He's lost a lot of his ability and confidence as a player and too see that on a world stage is not nice to see.

Even if he was in a Liverpool shirt, I'd still see it as a shame. Simply because you dont want to see a world class talent become a league 1 player over the course of a couple of seasons.

He needs to go home to Madrid and I will wish him all the best when he moves on.

This is the best observation on Torres performance today.

But Stamford Bridge chief Benitez claims the ex-Liverpool man was his star performer.

“Fernando Torres was great,” he said. “He was fantastic for the team. He was working so hard. We needed his effort, his runs, his movement to create the space for the second line.

:1012:   :face_palm:

Actually thought he didn't look too bad today! Hazard and Oscar had worst games i would honestly say. Hassled their defenders at times. Worked really hard. Helped create the room for Mata in the hole. What is missing is him being a predator in and around the penalty area. He smashed Vermaelen for pace and then his touch just completely evaded him. It's mad for someone to be able to show great skill and acceleration at one point and then the next his touch resembles sunday league. Same with the shot in the first half got in the right position and then that strikers instinct just deserted him. We won none the less we should be happy with that as it was a huge game. Torres started and we won so critics remember that factor.

Ba to start in mid week though as he is on massive form and has looked dangerous every game so far.Torres is a good player short of a lot of confidence and after all thats happened he's not gonna get it back with the way the crowd is at stamford bridge at the moment. I bet if he goes in the summer he will scores plenty elsewhere.

Come on then, who is going to bite at me?

New haircut but sadly the same old performance in a Chelsea shirt from Torres.

Apart from 2 bursts of speed that left me very surprised, Torres still poses absolutely no goal threat to the opposition. The club pay him a massive wage every week to score goals which he has simply failed to do for most of the time he has been at this club. If RA hadn't paid £50m for him he would have been gone from here at least a season ago.

If Torres really wants to turn things around he needs to get on that training ground and work his balls off, stay at the training ground after everyone has gone home and work on his touch and his finishing until there is a dramatic improvement.

I don't know what has happened to the player that looked so good at Liverpool but if we are serious about winning the league again we cannot afford to be playing someone up front that simply has no hunger or desire to score goals.

Speechless....

"When you have one striker for a month and a half and cannot change, it's more difficult for the striker. When you have now two strikers, you can manage. Fernando was doing a great job. Afterwards, Demba gave us something we didn't have before"

So the excuse for Nando's poor form is because he's required to play games. Except his form wasn't poor because he really did a "great job". So what is the excuse for? I'm getting a headache from trying to make sense of this.

It's a fair point that he wasn't completely useless (though he still had those moments), but if people are considering that to be one of his better performances, it shows how bad the situation really is.

Seems it's only us on here who thinks he was terrible yesterday.

Going by Sky, ESPN and BBC pundits he done well.
