I'd love to know how many minutes he played and how many shots he took. On target, off target and blocked.

2012/2013 Season:

Average of two shots per match in the EPL

Total shots 62

Shots on Target 23

Total time played in the EPL - 2569 minutes (nearly as much as the previous one and a half years at the club)

Minutes per goal in EPL - 321(he actually had a better minutes per goal in the EPL in Season 2011/2012 with 317)

I feel bad for poor Torres, always unfairly criticized for a his whooping return

The thing with Torres is that people either have him as a massive flop or somebody who's done well because he scored 23 goals this season. He's not been a complete flop this season but he should have done better. I wouldn't mind keeping him this season and seeing if Jose can do anything with him, but if he was to leave it wouldn't be the worst decision we've made.

::clap2::

i dont think its just that

i think its more of a message to the players, that no one is written off and no one is safe. the players will have a chance to prove themselves and those who already did, will have to do it again

I like the fact that Jose has come out and said that everyone gets a chance to compete. Loaned players and senior players alike. I would be pretty pissed if he just started shipping everyone out without taking a look at them. For all of those worried about Mata leaving this should come as welcome news. If Torres is going to get a chance to prove himself then so should everyone else. After watching Lukkaku and Torres playing I can't imagine Jose making the wrong decision (even if that means Torres actually can turn it around).

Seems to be implying that he wants to get rid of him, considering how hush he's been about other players possible moves/first-team chances it was strange for him to come out and talk about Torres and a decision needing to be made.

Those stats are just ridiculous, two shots per match is what you would expect from those in the band of 3 not your frontman.

8 Premiership goals for 2012-2013

6 of those against bottom half clubs.  :face_palm:

Apparently I shouldn't have been so quick to dismiss the Torres to Barca story, lots of papers reporting it now.

I guarantee that's more due to the laziness of those reporters than anything else. And I want badly to believe in such rumors.

To sell Torres so cheaply is only a good idea if we actually get Cavani.

Worst case scenario for me is we let Torres go only to replace him with another flop Rooney, then we will be paying an extra £90k a week in wages for Rooney   :-(

£17m is cheap?! if someone had told me wed get that much for him i wouldve laughed in their face.

what if jose actually decides he can get torres back to his lethal best?! i'm only saying this because he has brought over his spainish coaches from real. the way i see it torres went into a goal famine when benetiz left loserfool along with his spainish collegues and when he came to the bridge he probably still felt in that rut until the fsw came along. perhaps a change to spainish coaches might bring him out of his shell! if this does occurr then i will be putting money on torres.
