Signing Torres is a terrible mistake that keeps making us suffer three and a half years later.

Of course, we can't move him. He is an average player, low on confidence, on superstar wages and I bet he isn't willing to take a pay cut to get a move. Considering that his form had started turning to sh*t in his last few months with LFC, transfer to Chelsea was the best thing that could possibly have happened to him. Had we waited till summer, his poor form would have continued and Roman might have gone for somebody else.

The guy just steals a living and has no qualms about it.

Bit harsh i think. we're all annoyed that he has been sh*t since signing for us, but i do think he has worked hard on the pitch. no quality, but there has been plenty of effort for the most part. it's still a terrible signing, but id blame the club as much as the player, he just doesnt have it anymore, no matter how hard he tries

How exactly are Liverpool currently bigger than us?

Liverpool are currently not more successful than us. So I suppose you could say in the here and now, that they are not currently bigger than us. But you would have to be an extremely biased Chelsea fan not to concede that based on history, prestige and worldwide following, Liverpool edge us considerably.

The thing is, while that is true, it hardly matters given they can't win a league title to save their lives and have only just come back into the CL after a four year decline. So we are a far bigger proposition, especially with Jose.

Currently we are bigger than Liverpool in every way, other than their beloved history (as dubious as that is).

I would argue that the dippers have a bigger worldwide support than us.

They've had minimal success in the PL era, and thats when the explosion worldwide has happened, we've had huge success in comparison so would have picked up these fans.

I'm not at all bothered that you are, but if you are not a Chelsea fan, why are you posting on a Chelsea fans' forum?

He was answering the poster called Abramovich, hence the "you" signed him - the you was not directed at Chelsea.  It was a joke.

No one wants him, so he's here to stay for a couple of years. I can't see him being frozen out of the squad like Anelka, Alex, and Malouda, however.

I am sure there is no one on this planet more than Fernando Torres who wants to see him return to even half of what he once was. As much as I and everyone wanted to see him leave, he is here to stay so rather than carry on about it, let's try and give him support. We pretty much have done that through this ordeal and think it only be helpful for him and team to be positive.

I know everyone has and certainly know people (including myself) have joked about him but in the end it doesn't help.

I personally am beginning to feel sorry for him because you know of he wants to prove himself but his confidence is clearly shot. Burning his Jersey or hanging banners at Stamford Bridge (as one in here suggested) will certainly make thing worse all around for him and the club...

Nando going to Wolfsburg. Book it now. Cavani or Bony to replace him.

Wow you really place that much faith in this guy eh?

Di Marzio: Contacts have begun between VFL Wolfsburg and the agent of Fernando Torres. The Bundesliga side is looking for a striker

No just extremely hopeful!

He's pretty reliable, however, this just says that they've contacted Torres' agent, I'm sure once Wolfsburg realise Torres will want Ferrari wages for Moped performances they'll look elsewhere

There be true Chelsea senses of humour lol

They've not seen Torres play recently then?

Yeah. Last time they saw him score was 2008 at Liverpool. Then decided they can't stand Liverpool and never watched Torres again.

Too bad that Torres is part of Jose's plans for the next season. We all have some hope to see Torres scoring 6 or maybe even more goals. Perhaps a wishful thinking on my part?
