Courtois is a great keeper but his distribution is quite poor

Hopefully the GK coaches work on this as he does tend to put our defence in danger when he really shouldn't

If you're talking about the Azpi moment I think both could have done better.

But it was stupid to give him that ball anyway, at that moment. He should have just shooted it to the strikers; don't do such risky things.

Just generally

Even first couple of games, his kicking wasn't great and we lost possession a few times

 

Besides from his distribution though (which can be easily fixed), he is quality

Thought he was unlucky with all 3 goals today as he couldn't do anything about them, distribution was poor but that save was insane.

That was good save but it was right after huge mistake he made. I'm Not happy with him against Everton. Distribution was quite bad.

His distribution is generally good, he's good at setting off quick counters.  We couldn't keep the ball against Everton, punting it up field would have just come straight back at us.  Azpilicueta was just as to blame for that chance he gave away, but he made up for it with that wonder save.  He couldn't do much about the three goals we conceded.

I think all it takes is him thinking through the game situation a bit more.  No need to throw it quickly out to Azpi.  We're up in the match and can't keep possession at the moment -- slow it down Thibaut.  

I totally agree with you. There was no need for quick distribution, chelsea was winning and Everton had majority of the possession.

I would do that every so often anyway. But i wouldn't do it because Courtois had a poor day with his distribution, i would do it because i would like to see Cech back in goal every so often.

Why are people giving Courtois grief? Could do nothing about the goals, one or two poor throws that he well and truly made up for with that save from Mirallas.

Too much knee jerk reaction on here at times.

Thibaut is still young. He'll make mistakes here and there as well as world class saves. I have no doubt in my mind he is the way to go.

Actually, that chance in particular was down to Dave taking his eyes off the ball. It wasn't the best of throws but the chance wouldn't have happened if Dave was alert.

He is the candidate to replace a club legend and best goalkeeper this club has ever had. Of course he'd be examined closely.

The eto header was suspect, his starting position was very aggresive meaning the ball goes past him sooner. A couple of yards back or on his line and he saves it. When he saw the free kick had no hight on it he should have stepped back

Could do nothing about their goals and his save at the end was sheer brilliance.

Guys got it all, Cech may well have to leave...can't see this boy being dropped

Agree, thought he could have done better. Not sure if his view was blocked or not though, with that many bodies in the box I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say it was.

I thought exactly the same Azpilicueta was slow to react so it was made to look worse than it was.

The guys a top class keeper, all keepers make mistakes. He did nothing majorly wrong and made an amazing save.

I agree with that, but I don't think he deserves any criticism so far. Think he's done excellently apart from one or two throws, his distribution against Leicester was excellent.
