January 26, 201412 yr Jackson Martinez. No I'm talking about a 20 year old striker in the Swiss League
January 26, 201412 yr If we get £25M odd for him, I'll be happy. Although I would like him to be given a run of say 10 games in a Chelsea shirt just to see what he can do. Edited January 26, 201412 yr by JoeyN
January 26, 201412 yr Selling Lukaku smacks of short-termism to me, give the kid a chance, and by a chance I mean a proper bloody season.
January 26, 201412 yr he's not going anywhere yet. he will probably have a chance to impress again in pre-season next year, so let's hope he can show jose how much he has improved by being at everton. i would certainly not be against any decision that lets us get diego costa in though. i think he is our missing piece, a truly world class striker
January 26, 201412 yr If we get £25M odd for him, I'll be happy. Although I would like him to be given a run of say 10 games in a Chelsea shirt just to see what he can do. You realize that we signed him for £19.4M Anything lower than £30M for Lukaku would be joke
January 26, 201412 yr Considering we will get rid of ba, eto'o and will probably try to offload Torres (again), I can't see us trying to sell Lukaku as well
January 26, 201412 yr We bought 5 bright Belgians not too long ago. 3 of them are on loan, one is our star player and one's already sold. Courtois probably wants to seal a permanent deal with Athletico, it is too early to say what happens with Thorgan and Lukaku is doing a lot of things for Chelsea not wanting him back. Mainly running his mouth. Jose has no problem with players running their mouths as long as they work hard on the pitch. Not sure if Lukaku is ready for that. Time will tell I guess. My original point I tried to get across is hope we at least make a profit of these players if they otherwise don't fit our system. All of them are already more valuable than we bought them for...
January 26, 201412 yr As selling Sturridge worked out so well didn't it?... Oh my god will everybody please just shut the f**k up about Sturridge?! Get over it!
January 26, 201412 yr Oh my god will everybody please just shut the f**k up about Sturridge?! Get over it! He has a point though.
January 26, 201412 yr Oh my god will everybody please just shut the f**k up about Sturridge?! Get over it! I'm glad we sold him, don't have to see the stupid dance as much now.
January 26, 201412 yr Oh my god will everybody please just shut the f**k up about Sturridge?! Get over it! Yes please! Every time he scores it's the same whine FFS
January 26, 201412 yr So I take it, you don't see similarities in the situations of Lukaku and Sturridge and don't particuarly care if he leaves. Since that's all bluelion said.
January 26, 201412 yr So I take it, you don't see similarities in the situations of Lukaku and Sturridge and don't particuarly care if he leaves. Since that's all bluelion said. In another forum you are the same way really. Oh and you never stop talking about Sturridge everytime Nando flops and Sturridge scores. He is gone, get over it; no need acting like an obsessed girlfriend.
January 26, 201412 yr My apologies for the double post (if a moderator can fuse both of my posts it would be appreciated) This is what you posted today Las7 on another forum: "Sturridge has 25 goals in 33 matches - 21 of which are in the EPLTorres has 42 goals in 154 matches - 19 of which are in the EPL Fernando Scorres the much better striker" Get over him, he plays for Liverpool now and Torres is still a Chelsea player.
January 26, 201412 yr I don't get your point, I didn't bring up Sturridge in this thread. Everyone knows how I feel it about the subject - on each forum I'm a member in I don't have different opinions(or nicknames) on the matter. The forum you're talking about I bump up his threads due to certain members of that forum needing to eat humble pie because of their predictions. Edited January 26, 201412 yr by Las7
January 26, 201412 yr I always wonder what people would say about the prospect of us buying Lukaku if he was just a player for West Brom/Everton rather than on loan from us.
January 27, 201412 yr Like Ba or Benteke people would be creaming themselves then after watching them really closely (like ba) come to the conclusion that they are a small time sh*t donkey because they suddenly can't replicate their goal scoring here. Do people even remember Cisse first season at Newcastle? Edited January 27, 201412 yr by Stim
A touch unfair on Ba I feel, you need a run of games to hit some kind of form as well as decent service.
January 27, 201412 yr I think Ba could've been a decent target man for us. He has body strength and can bring the ball down better than Torres or Eto'o. He needs long ball service and I don't think thats our current style of play. we're playing more direct, short passes, which imo Ba or even Lulu aren't ready for yet. They need to improve their touches.
January 27, 201412 yr Based on what I have seen at Everton , what their fans say on their forum & his current stats, I am far from convinced he will or perhaps more important, never is going to be the lone striker that will fit the system that seems to be evolving at Chels. If you watch his game he is wasteful when trying to pick a pass and yes he does reasonably well one on one I am far from convinced about his ability to last either a full 90 minutes and certainly not the schedule that a club that plays in effect two games a week for most of the season. OK his is young but would he need to be rested far more than the likes of Oscar & Hazard but it seems to me his body mass hinders his fitness and stamina, something that was never an issue with Drogba. As was demonstrated at WBA Lukaka was at his most effective coming off the bench, he didn't start in many of WBAs games. In some ways the points I make above don't tip the balance but what Jose sort of suggested in a press conference is that Lukaka may well have a problem with his attitude. Don't get me wrong he is going to be a decent player but we need a great striker supported by two decent strikers and I am not sure he will want or accept to be cast in a supporting role nor in truth , as was the case in Juan's situation, does it make sense.
