Oscar - Little Diamond

Featured Replies

I really like Oscar in a 4-3-3 playing in a midfield 3 with Matic/Fabregas - Kante, he is made for that position, 4-3-3 will no doubt be our formation in the big games which makes spending big on Lukaku look even more ridiculous, we have much more control of games and are a lot more solid playing 4-3-3

Oscar scores a brace, Chelsea fans are frowning. Is this for real?

not the first time - same happened when Anelka & Flo Malouda were w/ the club - our fans complained when they scored cause they felf it would prolong their stay at the club

Looks like he is going, maybe linked to log a going to mancs, he goes to juventus maybe. He did ok last night but didn't look happy and had a few long looks at conte.

I agree with recent posts he could do a job in a 433 but is not ideal holding player nor a number 10 but actually a very versatile squad player if you could keep him motivated.

Personally I am still a fan cos he has talent, yes maybe not fulfilled his promise yet.

Doubt if he'll stay

I just don't get it with Oscar. He's a player that constantly seems to deliver below par performances when he really should be better than that. It's not as though he hasn't been given so many chances, he's had a shedload and yet time after time fails to deliver.

Probably one of our most frustrating players in recent years.

Don't remember which season it was but he was our best player for months. That means he has it in him. Not many players have that. Maybe Conte can fork out some consistency out of him.

Must have been his very first season as my memory doesn't stretch back to a time he was "our best player for months"!!!

IF Conte could get any sort of consistency out of him then I'd be happy for him to stay but if it's gonna be a case of same old, same old then anything in the region of £30M is too good to turn down, especially if it means the likes of Chalobah and RLC getting more game time.

I really wanted Oscar to come good, probably more than any other player. When he first arrived he showed some flashes of brilliance and I was confident we've got a real quality in our hands. Remember that

Then he'd fade and I would find excuses for him, especially since he was always involved with the national team every summer. Finally, he had all the rest he needed before the last season and it was his worst season in a CFC shirt. Some would say, the whole team was playing poorly and it's not fair to single him out, but Willian, for example, was fantastic and somehow managed to do well.

I really can't figure out what his deal is. He seems to have all the tools to play well and yet he's so rarely at his best. Maybe it's a Brazilian thing, I don't know. If Conte decides to keep him, I do hope he finds a way to make him a player we all thought he could be.

In fairness to him the 3 months after Mata left he was outstanding for us, but it didnt last unfortunately.

Interesting interview from the official site:

On playing alongside Costa and Hazard against Werder:

"We like to play together. Every time when we have the ball we come close together to try and link up and create something. This is good for the team and for us. 4-2 was a bit low I think, we played much better than Werder Bremen and we deserved to score more goals. We missed a lot of chances but it was good because the team created a lot. Everyone played very well."

On his preference between 4-3-3 and 4-4-2:

"I think we have played better with the 4-3-3 than when we have played 4-2-4, but we have two formations and always we try our best. I like playing in a 4-3-3 because I can score more goals, and also create more and tackle in midfield which I like to do to help the team. In the last two games I have scored three goals so I am feeling good, we are ready and now we are all just looking forward to starting the season."

Keep him! Fecking great today. Complements Kante perfectly. Great pressing, gives us a forward threat from deep and great passing.

He done well but he's done the same for 4 years now. Starts well then reverts to type.

We shouldn't be selling anyone on the hope he comes good because he fails to deliver. Maybe this time will be different but I'd be keeping Cesc

This Oscar is good Oscar. I think Conte's clear instructions to him work wonders. Only first game I know but signs are good. Probably said the same for 3 years in a row [emoji28]
