April 19, 201412 yr Why did he take him instead of Ramires? Should of taken Ramires off and put Oscar in the pivot with Matic. I don't understand how Ramires wasn't taken off, he wasn't in the game from the start, he was passing the ball back to the keeper when he had loads of space and we had to keep the pressure on sunderland. At times I don't think Ramires has a footballing brain, he looks like he has the same IQ as Bosingwa. But Oscar was rightfully taken off to, he contributed just as much as Ramires, nothing.
April 19, 201412 yr Remember seeing somewhere that he's played more games than Messi and Ronaldo. For some of his age that will have to take a toll. It's something you have to take into consideration at least and with the world cup coming up, it's not going to get better anytime soon. I'll save my full thoughts until later but for now I don't think he's as bad as he's being made out to be here. I think he should be getting on the end of chances rather than trying to create them, especially in the form he's in at the moment.
April 19, 201412 yr Because Oscar was worse But Oscar better technically, his passing is better than Ramires.
April 19, 201412 yr But Oscar better technically, his passing is better than Ramires. Youre ofc entitled to your opinion but i disagree
April 19, 201412 yr I think a league one player is better than Ramires technically, Oscar maybe a better passer but he had nothing to give to the game, every time he had the ball he slowed the play down and ruined it.
April 19, 201412 yr Oscars passing is not that good. Very very overrated. For a number 10, a brazilian at that, his passion g is sh*t. Doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Mata. Sure Oscar can press but that's about it.
April 19, 201412 yr I dont even think it should be a discussion, worse part about Ramires is his passing. Anyway i agree Oscar was poor today too just thought he could of taken Ramires off instead and put Oscar deeper.

He usually beats his marker from the off and/or beats him into a stupid challenge

I just hope next season we have a better plan then switching between three mediocre strikers and giving up pressure and contol at the same time when we need a goal. April 19, 201412 yr I'm just gutted that the game vs Liverpool isn't going to be as big as we hoped for. If we win it, we're still two points behind.

April 19, 201412 yr Thats if Liverpool win tomorrow. They are due a defeat. It won't come tomorrow. They will batter Norwich, at least 4 or 5 nil
April 19, 201412 yr It won't come tomorrow. They will batter Norwich, at least 4 or 5 nil Just like we should of theoretically battered Sunderland... There's still some hope left. Albeit not much.
April 19, 201412 yr It won't come tomorrow. They will batter Norwich, at least 4 or 5 nil Thats what everyone is expecting, just like nobody saw us losing today. I find hard to believe Liverpool wont lose or drop some points until the end of season.
April 19, 201412 yr If he really is that exhausted he should have been given a break. Between Hazard and Willian we have cover for him, no point playing someone who is knackered and apparantley needs a masseuse after every game to keep him mobile. If he hasn't been exhausted and this is just the standard of his play, it simply has not been good enough. Either way the club need to sort this issue out, either rest him or move him on, I have faith he has the talent but the performances he's been having aren't good enough for a first choice #10 for a team challenging for top honors.

He looks jaded, something only a couple of weeks away on a tropical beach will resolve. He was our best player for the first half of the season, giving him a prolonged mid-season break is something that we were never going to be able to do.

I wouldn't say first half of the season, i would say more like the first quarter. Since then he has been really poor. He isn't the only one though, the midfield just don't look like they are playing together as a team. To be honest i am starting to think some of our midfield was a complete waste of money. Look how much we have spent, are we really getting value for the money we have spent ? i don't think so.

When you say poor... we're talking by the extremely standards he set in his first season/start of this season/Brazil last two summers, not last-season-Torres poor. He's our third highest scorer this season, still does his shift defensively, only way he's lacking is the mental freshness in the final third. He's 22 years old, hasn't had a summer off since he was 19, I can't understand why he's become so many's go-to scapegoat. Edited April 19, 201412 yr by Fatty_Speeding
April 19, 201412 yr Ramires is the weak link in the team. Just as someone else said... "I'm sick of expecting Ramires to mess up the attack..." He really has become very frustrating.

He really has become very frustrating. i was crying out for lampard to come on 2nd half today for that very reason. Lamps will guarantee a much higher pass completion rate, and will make the right decision in forward areas, both of which are areas of ramires' game that are quite weak
April 19, 201412 yr Oscar has played a lot of football in the last two years. He also has a home world cup on the horizon. Give the lad a break.
April 19, 201412 yr I like him a lot but he has been crap since Mata left. (Apart from that Free Kick against Stoke).
