April 21, 201412 yr You'd think he'd be a better player after that much practice, but he seems to have got worse! The two things I will say in his defence is that he can hold his own despite his physical appearance and he has a decent free kick on him. I think he is exhuasted. 120 games is a lot even for someone as young as Oscar.
April 21, 201412 yr We've got that guy, he's called Matic! Athletic and quick like ramires, strong like luiz and calm on the ball, excellent decision-making and passing like lampard. We just need to clone matic and play them alongside each other and we're sorted. Or sign Yaya... Matic Oscar Pogba is a tasty combo, no? Trading Rambo, Luiz and aiming for pogba would solidify our mid field right quick
April 21, 201412 yr He's got his eyes on Brazil. He doesn't want to get injured. A common problem before a world cup. how do you know this exactly?
April 21, 201412 yr how do you know this exactly? It's things that come about, obviously speculation. People have been saying Messi has his eye on the world cup, probably an excuse for his disappearing acts lately.
April 25, 201412 yr Have to say Oscar has really disappointed me this season. He had a decent start but has faded and it couldn’t have come at a worse time as we decided to let Mata go and make Oscar our “No. 10”. We’re at the crunch end of the season where you need your quality players so step up and Oscar has failed to do so. He still shows glimpses of quality but currently it is debateable as to whether he merits a first 11 place. I’m not saying get rid or anything like that but he does need to find a level of consistency. People can’t keep coming up with the same old excuses of “he’s only a kid and he’s played too many games”. That was probably the case last season but not this. This is where it annoys me with Chelsea. If a player such as McEachran, Baker, Swift or even Loftus-Cheek had been given a chance and had the odd run-out in the midfield, they might by now have enough minutes under their belt to be useful. If any of those had put in poor performances like Oscar has in some matches this season, it would be “see, these youngsters are not good enough”, but players like Oscar get excused because of reputation and the fact he’s Brazilian! Just hope if selected he rediscovers his form for the remainder of the season, as on his day he is quality but it needs to be more than just now and again. By now, I had really expected Oscar to kick on and take games by the scruff of the neck and ne a match winner like Hazard.

By now, I had really expected Oscar to kick on and take games by the scruff of the neck and ne a match winner like Hazard. Completely agree. Oscar has failed for me this season, we made a tough decision and in some ways it has backfired...especially at crunch point in the season. I thought it may have been tiredness with Oscar but he has had plenty of time not in the team but just doesn't seem to hit the height we know he is capable of. Hazard can't do it on his own and like Willian Oscar really does need to start chipping in a whole lot more that he is currently because we need a number 10 to score and create like Mata did so well.
April 25, 201412 yr Really needs to improve or his place in the squad is in trouble. Thorgan Hazard has been immense for the past two years and he could easily nick Oscar's spot.
April 25, 201412 yr Oscar is approaching the end of his second season at Chelsea and as he chats at the club's training base in Cobham in his ever-improving English he reflects with pride on his time in west London so far. 'The two years have been unbelievable for me. I think next year will be the same for me and Chelsea. I want to stay here for many years like Terry and Lampard have. 'Chelsea is such a big club and every year we try to win titles. I like this so much. Last season it was the Europa League and this year we are in the semi-finals of the Champions League and fighting for the title in the Premier League. The season has been good. 'Last season I played so many games and it has been the same this season as well. Sometimes it is better to be on the bench and to play the second half. 'If I start and I play 70 minutes before being changed that's also okay because of the amount of games I have played. 'When I play I know I can play well and with intensity because I have played a little less.'
April 25, 201412 yr An extended rest would do him well after the world cup and perhaps into the early season.

He is now using the same excuses as some of the fans are.
April 25, 201412 yr Nice to see Oscar has been reading the this thread. He is now using the same excuses as some of the fans are. Doesn't make it any less relevant. The kid is 22 years old ffs.
April 26, 201412 yr If a player admits they've been tired then chances are they are proper f**king exhausted. I'd give him a month off at the start of next season.
April 26, 201412 yr Nice to see Oscar has been reading the this thread. He is now using the same excuses as some of the fans are.Yeah, how dare he get tired after 2 full years of games. Sell him now.
April 26, 201412 yr He's been benched plenty of times in the past couple of months, the minutes he plays he's still poor.

April 26, 201412 yr Oscar is clearly in need of an extended break rather than rested for the odd game or only given an hour run out. Unfortunately the world cup means he isn't going to get it over the summer. He is a quality player and I would be very disappointed if we let him go as I am confident he will develop into a quality player as he gets older. He needs to be rotated more next season so we don't see a repeat of him running out of steam half way through the season. People forget how much more Jose demands out of his players from a physical perspective than they will have been used to elsewhere. It takes time for a player to adjust to that.
April 26, 201412 yr He's also 22 years old. Twenty f**king two. I think some people expect the moon on a stick. Edited April 26, 201412 yr by bluedave

April 26, 201412 yr Lucas Piazon. Better #10 than Oscar. Well Piazon form has faded badly like Oscars in the second half of the season and he's playing in a much weaker league so i don't know how you can really say that.
April 26, 201412 yr Lucas Piazon. Better #10 than Oscar. So piazon is a better 10 than the current brazil national sides 10 based on one good season in Holland. Marvelous.
