There are other rumors that Zidane didn't want to stop giving Ronaldo the priority that was asked from Perez and that he decided to quit and let someone else destroy that team that he won so much with.

That is surely complete bullsh*t. I know our board has been poor in recent times, but surely they can't see Benzema as a decent replacement to Hazard, that would be utter madness.

Worrying thing is, if they get Pocchettino and Tottenham then go in for Sarri or whoever else we are in for.

To think before we signed him I didn't want him here, I always thought he was an overrated egomaniac with a lot to prove. Yet he has one of the best attitudes for a top flight player that I've ever seen, explains why he's so consistent.

Yeah, i remember that whole "who will i sign for" ad he was doing before he left Lille. A lot didn't like that kind of attitude and thought it was a bit unprofessional, i'm happy to see that side of him has disappeared since signing for us.

It really put me off him, I heard lots of great things about him in 2011 & 2012 but he never really impressed me that much. And his attitude on "I'm going to play in the Premier League then I'm going to Spain" really put me off. It's always been his childhood dream to play for Real but things change, now that Zidane has gone I'm more confident in keeping Hazard.

But boy am I glad I was wrong about him, skill wise and personality wise.  

Hazard said he would wait for Chelsea to sign some great players before extending his contract. Chelsea's response so far has been to not even sign a manager, let alone players. Interesting tactic there I must admit, perhaps to confuse Hazard into signing the contract?

Weren't in the Europa league that season though, now we are. I think its very hard to win the prem and Europa league, plus Man City are levels above us right now.

We won it not so long ago, if Arsenal got so far in the Europe league and bottled a 10 man Atletico Madrid game at home we can win it.

But we just scraped 4th place when we won the europa league. Im talking about winning the league not the europa league. I cant remember the last time a team won the Europa league and the league title in the same season.

You can't say that if they are levels above us now this is going to last forever. We were levels above the competition during the last two titles as well, but that changed quickly. 

Hazard is such a guy but he is not an idiot. He's like LeBron James - great player, making all his teammmates looking way better than what they actually are, looking as spoiled princess but a deeper glimpse shows him giving his heart and soul on the pitch, and unfortunatelly being unlucky to play for a terrible organization. No matter how much he loves Chelsea, and that's a lot, he will leave if we don't fix this mess up. 

And then, we will be crying.

Don't think it's shots at Hazard, perhaps more shots at our clubs integration of Youth into the first team. 

Hazard isn't in charge of youth integration. How can he be blamed for lack of integration?

Not about spending money or one or two big players....

The club should shift focus and stop spending large sums and relying one or two players. 

I thought it was pretty clear he's implying stop worrying about Hazard who is just one player and we're spending to placate him.

I read it as ballack saying we have to stop relying on 1 or 2 players to win us games,  (maybe referring to hazard and kante) and give the youth a chance to build a team. 

Our strategy hasn't been to spend big on 1 or 2 players. So I don't think he was alluding to this summer's spending to placate hazard.

So he only wants to stay if the team improves. I think that is more than fair. Since coming here we've had chance after chance to build a world class team around hi and failed. Conte leaving and two big signings could help him sign a new contract. 

This is what most people have been saying.  I think this year was the last straw for eden, he's always had a defensive manager here with little freedom to play his way.  If Sarri comes in and we can get some attacking minded players and play good football it will be easier for him to stay.  He seems to genuinely like the club.  If we mess around and sign no one and just hope he will stay we are fooling ourselves.  

I wish him the best. Chelsea will not improve their squad and we will lose our best player. We are going downhill and this much is true. Well, at least now we can weed out the plastic supporters. 

His sentiments are fair. He only has at best 5yrs left at top level football so it's only right that he should expect the club to be challenging for the title.

No one can hate him for leaving he has never had an attacking manager who has let him just play he always has to defend defend. If you look at player's putting up big numbers for goals and assist they are always in attacking team's and have very little defensive responsibility IE Messi, Ronaldo and Salah this season. Salah is a very interesting one because Klopp uses him in false defensive or cheat defensive position so when Liverpool win the ball he's always one on one with a defender.

 

Only way I see him extending his contract is Sarri coming in.

 

I truly believe he wants to stay but doesn't want to play defensive he wants to express himself. Look how happy he is in the Belgium setup he's always laughing smiling completely different to him at Chelsea last season.
